Heather (dark hair) who works downstairs is an unpleasant member of staff. I tried to do a refund of £16 as I had paid by my Apple Pay it didn?t match the last digits of my physical credit card. I tried to explain how the numbers differ on Apple Pay. I couldn?t remember at the time, how to go to wallet to show her. She was very rude and even though I opened my banking app to show her the said transaction, she wouldn?t believe me. I gave up and continued browsing in the children?s section. A very helpful member of staff recommended some books to me. I went upstairs to pay for them as I did not want to be served by Heather again. Just before I left, I heard Heather saying loudly to two colleagues, how a customer had tried to commit fraud and how she had been so clever at spotting this and that I had been confrontational (not true) in how I tried to prove it was a valid transaction. I went upstairs and the member of staff showed me how to find the Apple Pay details in wallet. I think Heather needs further training in customer service and also on the tills. Before this encounter I have always found the staff in Oxford Waterstones to be polite, knowledgable and very helpful.

Shameful level of hygiene, i understand England is very relaxed about it in general, but this is beyond acceptable: customer toilets no cafe tables, floor and well frankly all the surfaces i saw are just horribly dirty and the last thing i could think of is actually sit down and have a cup of tea. Please recover soon

This is a multistorey bookstore with a cafe. A nice place to go if you're a book lover!

They sell my books here - obviously I love the place! But it's a high quality bookshop in any case.

Sadly, book stores are going out of fashion and have very limited and out of date stock. Even a cafe where I liked to read books is not as popular as it was before.

Amazing space, brilliant categories (never found in any shop before). Great cafeteria, places to just sit and read on 1st and 2nd floor. Only downside: bathroom not in order for two full days.

A good place to collapse with bakewell tart. Someone called me a blockhead in the cafe, but the man who served me books on the ground floor had a curiously soothing, almost clinical manner. I left restored...

Such a nice. Much book, long long alphabetic exercise sections reading for older and youngling children experience wide range of existential emotions. Also coffee for those longing for not too much sleepy time! Much recommend also for the coffee servings in mug and seats! Read more everybody books please!

This was a wonderful branch of Waterstones, very helpful friendly staff and a fantastic cafe as well. If in Oxford for a visit pop in all the guide books you will need readily accessible, and with the nice comfy cafe to sit in to read your new guide books you can plan your visit over a very nice coffee or even a local Cream Tea.

Has around four floors. Can't really comment about their products. But visited to buy my son a book and that was successful. Their toilet is on the third floor, so sweated my way all the way up in 30+ degree heat, just to find that the bloody thing was shut/faulty.
