Went on a recce, and the hotel looks good. Busy, active and welcoming. A quick view of the spa looks good too. Time spent with a good book and a coffee could be well spent here. Planning to go back soon.

A group of us were there for a spa weekend recently. Few of the bedrooms had no heating. Reported it to reception who on the third call sent someone up with a portable radiator. TV remote was not working, dining area was cold too! Spa treatmentwas average

This was a 70th birthday treat for me and my 2 daughters. Everything was fine, pool and sauna etc but the issue was the sun loungers. All had towels or belongings on but were mostly unoccupied. We attempted to sit on some but were moved on by a lady who was saving one for her friend, apparently having a treatment ,who didn't appear for the entire hour I was swimming . We asked the receptionist who said no one was allowed to reserve loungers, a rule not advertised anywhere and clearly ignored. When we found 2 free chairs my daughter sat on one while I swam. The other one was quickly taken by someone who said, when my daughter told her that I was going to sit there when I got out of the pool "well you can't do that". We found it very stressful and at no point were able to sit together. This could be easily solved : there should be enough hooks for as many robes as guests admitted. Guests should have an identity tag pinned to robe loungers should only be available to those actually sitting on them, no reserving with towels etc. spa breaks are meant to be relaxing and enjoyable.

Very frightening experience in their spa due to a massage therapist called Jo who clearly has a psychiatric disorder and should not be treating clients.Below is my complaint:I write to formally complain about a massage I had today, Saturday 11th February 2023, with a massage therapist named Jo at 4pm.This was an incredibly alarming and stressful massage. Jo was talking, whispering, swearing and pulling faces at beings that weren?t visible/there throughout the massage. For the entire treatment she was hissing and spitting and talking at the thin air - there was nothing there. But Jo was clearly communicating with some people there that I couldn?t see.I am seriously concerned for her psychiatric wellbeing and the safety of anyone she gives treatments to. I was incredibly scared throughout my treatment and felt I couldn?t move at all as I was in a vulnerable position. I was absolutely petrified and tensed my whole body throughout what should have been a relaxing treatment.I am greatly disappointed at this and will do what I can to ensure that no one else is subjected to what I just went through. This was terrifying for me.

Where do I start..1. Checked in after 6 and the room was not ready.2. We paid for Breakfast and Dinner - Only ate on day 1 as the food was not good.3. No information provided at check in about booking restaurant4. The enter hotel smells like wet dog and all the upholstered furniture is dirty5. Staff are not trained and although polite seem like they are unsure what they're doing.6. The room was nice. TV remote did not work. Called to reception in the morning and they said they would bring a remote. We had to collect in the evening.7. As stated above food was awful we went into Oxford to eat and the restaurant also had a smell.8. Definitely not a 4* hotel. 2* at most. They are living in the past glory days.

Visited the spa and received 2x25 minute treatments. The staff were friendly and informative. Although I know it?s hard to cage but it would have been nice to have the treatments with less talk so that I could really relax. Also this is my fault I wish I?d asked for the exact products used so that I could have purchased them if available.

Booked an afternoon tea for my mother's birthday. I really think they had forgotten we were coming, despite a phone call the day before. 45 minutes wait for someone to come and ask us what we wanted to drink and the same again before the tea came out. The sandwiches were dried up, the scones were shop bought and so were the cakes. When asked what the cakes were, the waitress said I will ask the chef! I think all she needed to do was look in the bin for the packaging! £21 per head, it was very disappointing and sub standard. Would not recommend or go there again.

Came here in August and again in October for Murder Weekends and stayed an extra night beforehand. The hotel had no record of bookings or payment, ran out of basics such as tea on both occasions, and ignored specific requests, most of which had been promised in written communication. During my last visit, on the first morning of a four day stay I was bothered on no less than four occasions by staff telling me I shouldn't be in the room, I should have checked out, and even in the afternoon being threatened with being charged extra for failing to vacate the room by the deadline. The whole experience was so bad I told them I would never again stay there or at any other Hilton Hotel and asked for at least some of the money back - they offered me "rewards points" in a scheme I have never used nor am I likely to ever again. When I complained in writing they couldn't even find evidence of my first stay. Disgraceful service from a supposedly reliable name.

Very average. Good sized, very clean bedrooms. Drinks - very expensive. Food - dreadful and expensive. Their current Chef cannot cook! Avoid dining here. Be very careful when making reservations and checking out ... they bill you for breathing but in fairness, upon complaint errors were corrected by the excellent Reception Manager.
