My wife has had surgery here. The surgical outcomes are largely positive. BUT don?t expect plain sailing in terms of the process. Frankly it should be an absolute embarrassment to them. Today was just one example - a follow up appointment with the consultant had been promised, but no confirmation had come thru at all. My wife phoned to check, only to be told that ?yes, it?s today at 4pm?. They?d simply not told her! Then, when finished, she?s advised that wouldn?t have been able to drive home (not the same for all appointments), so that?s added further time, cost and all-round hassle to her now getting home. I could recount similar levels of farcical administration from nearly all of the appointments. There are other providers of this surgery - my advice is use someone else.

Recently had lens replacement operation at the Nottingham branch. Throughout the staff were very helpful, friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was relaxed, the surgeon who carried out my operation was very reassuring and the result, to date, is excellent.

Lovely welcoming professional surroundings. Friendly helpful patient kind and understanding staff. Obviously very experienced and consequently very reassuring. Not rushed at all. Felt so grateful for the superb care and advice I received. Prakash was so thorough and took time to explain everything to me . I?m booked in for a recall but know I could contact the centre anytime and they would do their very best to help me. I?ve been with optical express for over 10 years since they did my implants and cannot fault the amazing service I have always had. The staff go out of their way to be helpful and always do their very best to see patients at the earliest opportunity. I cannot recommend them enough.

When I was about to have my laser surgery done I was really scared and terrified of how the surgery was going to be like. I was really nervous of going in the theatre. When I met the team they were absolutely brilliant with their service. I am so amazed and satisfied they really do look after you and making sure your comfortable. I do not have any regrets it took me 15 minutes in there it was not what I expected. The team will make sure your feeling okay and comfortable. My fear is over I would highly recommend getting it done it really does make a huge difference. It was painless for me but it felt like my eyes were being pressured.. my advice is never watch YouTube videos before you go in because it can put you off. I would like to thank the whole team for looking after me. Best regards

As a contact lens/glasses wearer for almost 17 years I?d been considering LASIK for some time. Last week I made the decision to have the free consultation and get a price for my eyes. Upon arrival I was met by Sharon & Sophie who are absolutely lovely, they did all my tests and then I was saw by an optometrist for my results & price. Sharon worked hard to get me booked in asap as I wanted to get the surgery done sooner rather than later.On Thursday I had my surgery which I will admit I was nervous about but excited. The surgery team were absolutely fantastic and kept me informed with what they were doing throughout, the surgery itself took a total of 2 minutes per eye due to how serve my laser correction needed to be. The team then book you in for a check up the next day to ensure your eyes are healing well, then another one 2 days later. Due to how serve my eye sight was I could already see better straight after my surgery.I can now see one better than 20/20 Vision considering my eyes were -8.00 & -7.50. I will see you again in 3 weeks for my next check up.Thank you Sharon, Sophie & my surgery team for giving me my freedom back??

Blunt female member of staff who changed her tone after I said the price was more than I'd expected and proceeded to be very pushy and condescending saying, ?well what did you expect?.I went in for my surgery today and just as I was about to have the surgery they told me I needed a doctors note for my medication that I was previously on. I had filled out the health forms in my consultation a month prior but they mustn?t have even looked at them until the day of surgery. Now I have to rebook and possibly wait another month to have it done. I?m considering looking at other clinics because of the service at Optical Express.

Had my assessment at the Leicester branch two weeks before I had my surgery on the 21st February 2023 at Nottingham, after all the tests were completed I met my surgeon who advised me to have the monofoçal eyhance lens instead of the multifocal lens which i agreed to, three weeks on and two visits to the Leicester branch and I'm struggling to see outside of the house with my longsight I'm unable to drive and go to work, I have my next appointment in four weeks time for an assessment, at the moment it feels like it's been one of the worse decisions that I have made, I have been informed that I have been given too much near vision and not enough far which can be corrected with laser surgery. Every day I wake up with the hope that it gets better but there is no change with my vision, it feels like I've been left in limbo and with no money coming in I'm having to use my savings until this can be sorted.

I booked an appointment at meadowhall to discuss the options to improve my eyesight, which was really poor. I booked in to have multifocal lens replacement surgery in both eyes on 15-07-2022 at the Nottingham branch. The staff, surgeon and everyone involved in my treatment were fantastic. The surgery was painless and i could see clearly within minutes of having it completed, which only took around 20 mins minutes for both eyes. Over the next 6 months i acheived better than 20/20 vision which was way beyond my expectations. The aftercare was carried out to a very high standard, ensuring i recovered as efficiently as possible, supplying all the medication required. Every single one of the staff at the meadowhall branch were exceptional and answered every question on all of my regular consultations. They were really friendly and caring. My only regret was that i didn't have the surgery earlier on in my life, it is without doubt the best decision i have ever made. I really can't recommend Optical Express enough.. thankyou so much for giving me back the most precious gift in life.. sight ?Bye bye glasses forever ?

I have worn glasses to correct short-sightedness since I was 10 years old, then contact lenses since I was 17. My prescription was very high and complex with quite severe astigmatism. I had contemplated corrective eye surgery on and off for years but only plucked up the courage after a friend had it done last year.My experience of Optical Express Nottingham has been outstanding from the outset. The entire team were friendly, knowledgeable and reassuring . In particular, Ellie was my patient advisor, supported by Sharon and without the reassurance of them both, I would have probably reconsidered going ahead (my own anxieties, nothing else).All of the consultations were extremely thorough, everything carefully explained and ensured informed choice all of the way. Monica was amazing, explained everything and made sure I understood all the information, answering any questions.The day of the surgery (refractive lens exchange) was very nerve-wracking for me although the surgical team were also amazing, especially Nigel, who went above and beyond make sure everything was perfect. Mr Mathew was lovely and also very reassuring before and during the surgery.Post procedure, my vision was already better, despite some initial and expected cloudiness on the first day. For perspective, before the surgery, I was unable to read any of the visual acuity chart without glasses. Not even the single massive letter!! The day after, I could read the next to bottom line with one eye, 3rd from bottom with the other. 2 weeks later I'm at the bottom of the chart with both eyes, last but bottom line with single eyes! Nothing short of miraculous and life changing after 40 years of being entirely dependent on glasses. I do have some issues with dry eyes but had these before the surgery so will keep using the comfort eye drops for this.Without a doubt, the best decision I've made and wish I had been brave enough to do it years ago!. Every morning when I wake up, I could quite literally cry at being able to see the time on the clock! Simple things :)Would I change anything? Absolutely nothing!Would I do it again? Hell yes! ( but fortunately don't have to :) )Thank you Ellie, Sharon, Monica, Nigel and of course the amazing surgical skill of Mr Manu Mathew! Life-changing!

Kavita Kaur was so helpful, friendly and understanding, I had my laser eye surgery booked and there had been an error and I was worried it would delay the procedure or prevent me being able to proceed, however she provided excellent customer service which enabled me to continue with my appointment, going above and beyond calling me back, ensuring everything was OK. The procedure itself I had at Meadowhall and again everyone was so friendly professional and reassuring, so happy I went ahead with the procedure and with this company.

I had Lasek 7 years ago, it worked for a few years now I'm worse off my eyes have gotten bad again. No matter how many time you try to speak to some one at Optical express they palm you off, quick to take the £3,500 but not quick to talk about the problem. Would never use them again.
