“We have just returned from a fabulous mini break staying at Gate Lodge cottage. The location was perfect for exploring Alnwick and the Northumberland coast line. The cottage was perfect, wonderfully fitted out. Bed was comfy and the kitchen had everything we needed. We loved the sauna, and the hot tub was great to come back and relax in after a day out. Graham and Trysha have thought of everything that could be needed for the perfect escape. We were really lucky with the weather and the property is in the dark skies park and we were so excited to star watch - my iphone even capturing the aurora. There was so much more to explore and we will definitely be returning here again.”

The best roast dinner I have had in years, the meat melted, Yorkshire were light & fluffy, vegetables were plentiful, choice was amazing! “Walked here from our campsite. Good location but it gets really busy so make sure you book. Burger wasn't the best but the caramel apple Betty made up for ”

“Booked 2 nights at the Blue Bell Inn for a wedding at Newton Hall. Amazing little B&B and Chloe is a fantastic host! We received email communication from Chloe before our stay, and she gave us a local contact to arrange a local taxi to and from the wedding venue. On arrival, we parked right outside the Inn, and Chloe greeted us and showed us to our rooms. Great ensuite rooms with hairdryer, fresh towels, TV, tea, coffee, kettle etc..with more available if needed. There was even an iron and ironing board upstairs if needed..it was! The family room had a doule and single bed with plenty of pillows , the beds were really comfortable, and we had 2 great nights sleep. Breakfast was a lovely continental style with plenty of choice with fresh toast, boiled eggs, tea, coffee, fresh orange juice, and a vast array of pastries, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cheeses, cereals and meats. The little village was lovely, with a small farm shop, golf club and local pub. We had a 10 min walk to the beach, which was stunning! I would definitely recommend the Blue Bell inn.”

“Overall very impressed with the Aln room and the Joiner’s Arms as a whole. Very welcoming atmosphere and exceptionally good food and drink. We thought the room was well priced and very tastefully decorated and in keeping with the feel of the local area. Only a stone’s throw away from a lovely beach with charming sights and surroundings. Staff couldn’t do enough for us and were very friendly throughout our stay. Would certainly come back again in the future!”
