The staff at this hotel are friendly, helpful and a credit to the company. I have stayed in a number of best western hotels when I have had to work away, and this hotel was exactly as I expected it to be. The room we stayed in was large with a comfortable bed. It was necessary to ask for the room to be cleaned, but the fact that I needed to do so is clearly indicated in the lobby. This is also in line with many other hotels, do this was certainly not an issue. The breakfasts were good, as we're the meals served in the evening. The location was perfect for our purpose of visiting National trust properties in Yorkshire that we had not visited for a number of years.
In short this is a nice hotel , Witham great staff, and I wouldn't think twice about returning there.

Stayed with a small group of friends for a North Yorkshire weekend. Our room was clean and comfortable, but maybe not up to the standard of a similarly priced well known chain.
The breakfast buffet was ok, but rather limited in choice, as was the evening menu. Quite pricey too for a 3 star hotel.
We're unlikely to visit as a couple, but others may disagree.

Poor. Asked for ice for my toddlers bottle at around 8am. Was told bar doesnt open until 11am. For that reason alone this place has left a sour taste.

I enjoyed my stay here. Staff were friendly, professional & helpful. Food was good quality & hot food was served on hot plates! Bonus!
Rooms are basic and clean. Lots of plug points. No usb ports.
Wheelchair friendly entrance. Elevator available

Great hotel. We had a suite for a very reasonable price. A large bedroom, hallway and a living room with plenty of seating and a large screen TV. We even had two full bathrooms. Didn't have our evening meal at the hotel just breakfast. The cooked breakfast was quite extensive but there was very little else. Some fruit and yoghurt, toast and preserves but no pastries or croissants . Could definitely be improved.

Stayed at Burn Hall Hotel for 2 nights. The room was clean, and well stocked with tea bags,coffee and biscuits. Staff were very polite and friendly. We ate evening meal there both nights, the food was plentiful and home made. Breakfast was also good. The hotel is in easy reach of York and Thirsk. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Staff was terrific! Especially a waiter called Tom who was always cheerful and helpful. He was like a neighbor you're happy to have.
The hotel itself was shabby and you actually had to ask to have your room cleaned everyday! However, the staff was quick and kind when asked for help. We stayed as part of a tour but I'd have left if on my own. However, I'd have missed out on Tom's happy smile every day. Bad and good. The staff worked hard and the conditions are not their fault.

A massive thank you to each and everyone of your staff members who worked over the weekend. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left as Mr and Mrs everyone was helpful and polite. The whole wedding experience was perfect and we can't thank you enough. The rooms are so much better in person and the website photos do not do them any justice at all, food was amazing and such large sizes everyone commented on how nice it all was. We will definitely be back to stay again You are definitely worth the visit

Very pleasant location, nestled in the countryside. Very relaxing waking up to well maintained gardens surrounded by trees. The room was very disappointing. No fridge, no extractor fan in the bathroom which resulted in a steamy wet room. The note on the bathroom door reminded us to keep the door closed when showering as it may set off the smoke alarm, which a charge of £160 would be incurred! The decor was very outdated and bleak! Such a shame as the location and staff were great! Can?t comment on the food as we did not try it.

We got married 7th June 2025 we had previously been to a couple of weddings at Burn Hall we had a meeting with Danny and was shown around we knew that Burn hall was the venue for us. Danny was very helpful answered any questions and was great with communication. On the day of the wedding the venue looked great and all the staff were excellent and very friendly

Excellent location. Most staff very helpful and friendly. Rooms need decorating and showers over the bath are not very safe for my 80+ year old relatives.
Evening meals very good and overall good value.
Breakfast very disappointing. Food was generally over cooked and greasy. Insufficient options for people who do not drink tea or coffee at breakfast.
