“Lovely room with balcony, clean, spacious with complimentary everything from teabags to bottled water. Lovely comfy beds and pillows, great nights sleep and very quiet.
Friendly and welcoming reception staff... overall great nights stay and lovely bargain breakfast in bar area.

“Stayed here several times over the years. Brilliant location with great views and a vantage point to watch the world go by. Comfortable rooms and everything needed to chill and relax. Fortune's kippers are nearby for breakfast supplies and we always take some home. A short walk and 199 steps to the church and abbey.”

“The location is incredibly central a few minutes walk from the main area, station, pier, boats are all within walking distance.

The accommodation was clean, spacious with gorgeous views. There is no lift and a lot of stairs if you’re staying at the top and the shower was a bit hard to change temperatures but apart from that everything was good and it was a comfortable stay.”

“Had an experience at the Barns. The farm and barns are immaculate and appointed with everything you would need for a holiday in the area. Everyone concerned we're so friendly and accommodating to us. The experience was nothing of their doing and I want to show my support to them and everyone in the area during the moor fire. We arrived the day before the flare up that brought the fire to within 5m of the farm wall before heading towards Whitby. Everyone worked throughout the day and night to get it under control without support from outside the area until it was nearly too late. I'm in awe of them fighting for what they own and livelihoods. The biggest disgrace is that on arrival back home it hadn't even made the news. You deserve better recognition, farmers, fire fighters and all involved.”

“Large, very well furnished rooms, and well decorated. The kitchen has everything you could want. We had a fantastic stay. A little out of town, but with good bus links and taxis are inexpensive, and walking distance if you are reasonably fit. ”

“Perfect location for discovering Whitby! The allocated parking space was a total bonus. Beautiful equipped accommodation, we had a brilliant week. Very central, less than a minute to the water and swing bridge. (Not suitable if you’re not good with stairs...but we were so we loved it!)”
