Fantastic place for young and old to spend a few hours looking at the amazing gardens or walking through the woodland. Also a lovely cafe for refreshments too.

A pleasant day out, staff very friendly and helpful especially the lady in the payment booth. Gardens even at this time of the year are calm relaxing and peaceful with a good variety of plants. We had lunch in the Cafe the food was freshly prepared and very tasty. I have a Disability and would recommend Scampston Hall for accessibility and helpfulness, a BIG thank you.

Well this wasn't my first visit but it is a very lovely Gardens,It was nice too look around the gardens, it is extremely well kept, they have some gorgeous flowers plants and fantastic trees. The house wasn't open as it's only open certain times of the year but it's still worth a visit, people of all ages seemed to be there. There is also a nice little Cafe when you walk in, lovely to have a drink and a little food.Restrooms: Always lovely and cleanDog-friendliness: I saw many people walking dogs there.Picnic area: There are not lots of benches , but however there are a lot of chairs scattered around, plenty of places too sit I think, plus you could always take packup sit on grass if your with your family, or are healthy enough too.

The elegant parkland designed by Capability Brown in the eighteenth century contrast spectacularly with the more contemporary and modernistic design of the walled garden designed by Piet Oudolf in 1999. The use of grasses and the distinctive garden rooms of the walled garden are impressive and inspired. However the highlight has to be the spectacular Palladian Bridge spanning the dragonfly filled river. There is an enclosed plunge pool inside the Palladian Bridge once used by the modest female occupants of the Hall in the eighteenth century. The horse shelter that resembles a small cottage pre-dates Capability Brown and was used to shelter pregnant mares. It now contains a barn owl nesting box and is home to several bats. The cafe is excellent and served a wide choice of food. Service was quick and the food delicious. Guided tours of the Hall are available, but it is the grounds that are most impressive.

A beautiful peaceful place with stunning Capability Brown landscaped park and gardens continued and added to by Piet Oudolf. Incredible designs by both designers that merge so well together.A joy to walk around and a lovely fresh salad in the cafe to follow! A 1st visit for me but I will definitely be back again.

Defenitely reccomend visiting this unique historical home while it's open for the season. Along with the beautifully designed (and maintained) garden, you can find peace and quiet here while enjoying a pot of hot Yorkshire tea and a slice of one of the cakes of the day. Try out the informative guide through the Hall while you're at it!

Had a great day, the gardens are excellent and well maintained. The house is a home and the tour guide (Helen?) brought it alive. We ate in the cafe and found the food to be of good quality at a reasonable price. All the staff we met were all friendly and helpful. This is a must visit

A very beautiful wall through to see the garden flowers in the sunshine. The centre area had a water fountain ? and a pool of water - (like an open swimming pool but swimming is not allowed) which made the garden area beautiful. There's a Caffè for small meals & lunch, a tour guide is available if that's part of your booking. And accessible to disability users. I hope to visit again cos it was a nice place tucked away in the woods ?

We made a small detour here off the A64 on the way home from Whitby. It?s a lovely place with an interesting walled garden & some longer parkland trails. Very peaceful midweek, and great value for money with the Gardeners World 241 card. We only saw the gardens as we didn?t have time for the house tour or the cafe, but you could have a good day out here

Lovely garden and fantastic they they do free visits for locals sometimes. Had a great day. The cafe could be faster but suspect they were rather overwhelmed.

As always Scampston exceeds my expectations. Just spending a leisurely day here soaking up the early autumn scenery. The staff in the restaurant could not be more attentive and helpful- a large towel for our dog to lie on and a personal bowl of water! Our lunch, a jacket potato with coronation chicken, was delicious and they didn?t scrimp on the chicken! As always the grounds are beautifully manicured. A super day out! I would unreservedly recommend it!
