Four excellent days at the Greyhound. The accommodation is excellent and very comfortable. Steve is a very friendly host with a good knowledge of the area and made us feel so welcome. We ate in the restaurant on each evening as the food was of a very high standard and beautifully prepared and presented. The breakfasts were substantial and set you up for the day and were freshly cooked. Would recommend without hesitation. Thank you Steve for ensuring we had a lovely stay. Hope the Charity Event went off well on Saturday despite the weather.

Arranged to meet friends in another little town in North Yorkshire - but table cancelled as couldn't cope with our party of four with the large party they had, tried two other pubs in the town, but nobody answered the phones - found this gem on the internet - telephoned and answered by a real life person and booked there and then for the evening. Was perfect as half way for both couples and what a fabulous find - extremely friendly and warm welcome and the food was fantastic and extremely good value for money - this village may not have a famous sheep market, but it is a fabulous pub with great quality food and extensive menu. Would definitely recommend

A real gem of a place! Steve is a fantastic host who made us feel very welcome at The Greyhound. A great mix of a traditional pub but with modernly decorated and very comfortable bedrooms. Evening meals and breakfasts were first class and a very friendly atmosphere throughout the place. Thanks Steve...definitely hope to come back soon!

Visited The Greyhound Inn recently with friends for a 50th birthday. Table booked in bar as establishment is "dog friendly". Seated promptly. Choice of drinks good and reasonable choice of starters and mains. Starters arrived after about 15 minutes and were well presented and delicious. Mains arrived about 10 minutes later and again were well presented and tasted great. A little side salad dressing with the steaks would have been welcome. The only disappointment with the dining experience was the lack of choice of desserts. The only criticism was the toilets were in need of a good clean. It was a hot day and the smell was quite overpowering. Should have really been checked throughout the day. Overall, very good food and drink at a reasonable price.

We were on a long journey home and rang, on the off chance, to book a Sunday roast just an hour before we passed. A space was made for us in the bar, and we had a warm welcome when we arrived. The food was delicious, friendly service, in a lovely, quiet location not too far from the A1, and our pooch was so comfy under the table she didn't want to leave. We will definitely return if we pass by again.Food & drinks: Delicious Sunday roast

A welcoming local pub in a wonderful village. We were on holiday staying in Rowan House. Family from 15 years to 84 years. All made welcome. Great local beers and a chatty landlord who told us of places to visit. Ate there a couple of times with a menu to suit all.

Very friendly pub with clean and tidy rooms. The breakfast and food is excellent as is the welcome. Our children loved their meal and stay and our dog loved it too. It was a lively start and finish to our holiday. Nothing was too much trouble and we will certainly stay again.

The hotel owner and bars staff was very accommodating and engaging. Stayed longer in the bar than I planned :) .Bar/ restaurant food was fantastic and was the best breakfast I have had in ages. I had a small problem with my sons bed, in my room and they instantly accommodated us in an alternative room. I will definitely be planning to come back, thanks for the perfect relaxing stay.
