We went to the White Bull yesterday afternoon, for lunch and a drink.
We were served by a very nice young man.
There was a delay on our food and he was so apologetic and polite, not something that is always on display in other establishments.
It was the first time we had been back after a rather unfortunate incident some months ago which was dealt with swiftly by the manager.
However, based on our most recent experience we will be back in the near future.
The beer garden is a really nice addition with plenty of seating.

As a boater I used to come to The White Bull regularly, the old owners were always very friendly and welcoming.
Since the new owners have arrived they have continued to block access to canal boaters facilities which is adjacent to the pub. This land and building are owned by the Canal River Trust.
Access to these facilities is vital for boaters but the pub have blocked access to the alleyway and tap and are rude and obstructive when boaters want to access it.
This land and building do not belong to the White Bull, they have no right to block it nor be rude to boaters needing to use it. Many boaters live completely off grid, if we cannot access fresh water or the bin store this effects us badly.
A complaint has been submitted to Canal River Trust.
It's also a crying shame that what was a very nice pub to moor beside and enjoy some food or a pint has become somewhere boaters now avoid.

This was our first visit since the new managers took over. We were made to feel very welcome when though it was obvious we weren't local. The chicken bucket selection was extensive and it was hard to choose which flavour. We decided on the hot sauce which was a large portion and really tasty. The new inside decor has brightened the pub up nicely and outdoor seating is really nice too.

Met here with ex colleague. Initially tried to contact them. Phone no online wasn?t available so called green man which heard owned it and they didn?t have a no and sold last year. Place quite empty n soulless. Had hopes as said it have been done up since we last came but the yellow and black decor was quite unsettling. Needed brightening up with white !! Also got whiffs of dog and bleach which was quite overwhelming. Food ok - as a group we had to go one by one n order and they came out one by one too which wasn?t a big problem but different than most pubs. Didn?t get why there was a specials board in the ladies toilet cubicle!??The bench seating was low with tables and felt a bit like a child eating. Don?t think it?s a return venue for us but be nice in summer outside by the canal. Staff were nice and a few tweaks could be beneficial.

We came over as the premier in couldn?t seat 15 of us, they went above and beyond to feed up and give a 5 star service! Delicious food and the staff were fantastic (especially Tory!) thank you

Arranged to meet friends who staying in the lakes from Scotland. Thought it would of been a bit more foody type pub. I had the ultimate burger with meat from the local butchers which was tasty but overall the food was very average. Service was slow even though they weren't busy. We decided to sit outside because there was no atmosphere inside. Coffee and tea were instant and tea bags! Overall disappointing, not particularly cheap and struggled to understand the 5 star reviews.

Lovely bar,very friendly staff and lovely beers .we sat outside on the canal in the sun.we ordered a pizza and it was excellent,delicious in fact.two girls on really made us feel at home so we will be back again.Kid-friendliness: Saw kids playing with their dog inside and outside.its a pet friendly place too!!
