Not massively impressed to be honest. Most of the things on the specials board were not available, despite us being there early, yet they were not crossed off so we didn't know until ordering. Starters were measley. Main courses were ok, nothing to shout about. We did have a private room which was nice but it meant we felt...

Fall back in love with The Assheton Arms, the beating heart of the picture-perfect village of Downham.
We are delighted to bring this iconic village inn back to its former glory, retaining the charm and character it is known and loved for.
Stepping through the door is like greeting an old friend. Flagstone floors, low-beamed ceilings and log burning stoves provide the warmest of welcomes.
The 12 beautifully designed bedrooms are worth staying in bed for, but the hearty breakfast will be worth getting up for!
Re-opening in February 2023 for drinks, dining, overnight stays and everything in between. We can’t wait to welcome you back.
