It?s B&Q - what it says on the tin but did think there?s seems to be a little less stock and therefore choice than usual

Guys at the counter in the paint section are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.

Tristan helped me today purchase some material for a new bath panel. DIY is not something I am good at. Tristan came and took measurements off the old panel and then showed me what I needed. His service was above and beyond. Even helped me to put the new items in the car!

I wish to say a huge thanks to Carlos on the flower section for sharing his years of knowledge and experience.
Great advice given every time I come in store.
What this guy doesn't know isn't worth knowing.

I am a frequent customer to this store and in the past have had nothing put praise. Unfortunately it seems it seems the later on in the day you shop, the more staff seem to loose interest, mostly more occupied by their phones or catching up with others from various departments. I must add that as a customer of Aldi also, Whenever B&Q closes there seems to be a very large group of staff that tend to congregate around the exit doors. Almost all smoking and talking/shouting loudly for almost an hour after closing. Appears more as a social club rather than a business

Nice tidy store. As an ex B&Q employee, it gives a great impression. Well done.

Just been to B&Q to get some really awkward cuts of wood in large quantity. The chap on the timber desk, Carson, was a legend. Couldn?t have been happier to help, was super quick and efficient and was a delight the whole time. Thanks to him for making our trip a great one

Staff helpful but tills are annoying self serve ones

Not worth visiting. If you need some paint or brush it's there. If you need anything specific, the help is basically the sentence "you can order it online."
To be honest, I might be a bit harsh as I expected I'll find there what I need and to take it home on the same day (I still have a habit to expect this when entering a store).
Their advice to order it online and it can be picked up there is not particularly helpful as if I do order something online, and if that can't be picked up on the same day anyway, it would be more logical to simply order it for online delivery. Also, if I do order online, I don't see why would I still look for what I need at B&Q, as there's Argos, Amazon, Ikea and others and honestly B&Q isn't better with prices at all.
The only positive thing is that the stuff was trying be helpful, and didn't find anyone to be rude as mentioned in some other reviews (at least not my experience), but despite this, I still would go so far to say they were actually helpful as it seems everyone is only dealing with 1 section they are assigned to (or whatever) and don't really appear to be knowledgeable about much else.
Again, based on the prices and availability on any specific type of product you need, I don't think it's worth visiting the store - I agree it's definitely better to order whatever you need online for the stuff to be delivered to your address and also to check other online retailers as I really doubt there are many items where you wouldn't find a better price elsewhere...

I had to punch the old guy in the orange apron upon entering the store as he asked if I wanted decking so I got in first.

No manned tills open, wanted to pay cash staff expecting customers to use self service tills which only take card. Staff weren't interested in opening up a till and said use the customer service desk which was busy so walked out with out buying. Not impressed at all.

?Terrible Customer Service ? Very Disappointed!
I had an extremely disappointing experience at B&Q before Christmas. I needed to reprint a receipt for a purchase I made a few days prior using my bank card. Before driving to the store, I called ahead and was assured over the phone that I could get a reprint when I arrived. However, once I got there, the staff refused to help and kept passing me from one person to another. Even the manager was unhelpful and rude, repeatedly saying, "I don't know" instead of taking responsibility.
It was clear from my payment method that the purchase was legitimate, yet they still refused to assist. The lack of professionalism and unwillingness to help a customer with a simple request is unacceptable. This experience has completely put me off shopping at B&Q. I would not recommend this store due to its terrible customer service.
A big company like B&Q should have much better standards!
