I'd like to commend Bethany at the Folkestone HSBC bank, after my 89 year old mother attended the branch having been coerced into transferring funds by scammers. Bethany recognised my mother was likely the victim of a scam, and dealt with the situation professionally and sympathetically, resulting in no funds being fraudulently lost. Bethany also arranged appropriate preventative measures to protect my mother from future scam attempts...This bank has been open in Sandgate Road for many years and long may it remain so.

I went into the bank a few months ago to close an account and they forgot to hand back my driving licence and national insurance card . As they are both highly sensitive documents I have had no luck in getting these back. I have been in numerous occasions to be told they would ring me but they did not . I?m so annoyed with this bank as I need those documents back . Please sort yourselves out . This is most unacceptable!

The service at the bank, in my experience, is good, if you can get it. The only problem is that they are not open normal banking hours any more.
Their opening times are 09:30 to 15:30, this is only convenient for the unemployed and retired.
For those of us that work full time jobs it is impossible to get in person service without taking time off.
This is my reason for the lower rating.

Probably the most awful experience i have ever encountered. I bank with First Direct. I had some old pound coins and paper notes that i wanted to exchange. I went into your branch in Folkestone, on the 30/1/2024 to enquire about changing my old currency. No problem their. I returned on the 31/1/24 with my old currency. May i ask where you train these people in customer facing relationships. Just about as obnoxious, rude and ignorant as you can get. She looked at me as though she had just trod in something on the street. With people like that working for you, close the high street banks down. I will never go into your Folkestone branch again. Fumimg!!

Should have wrote to customers to inform us of closure, nearest open branch Canterbury. Just not good enough HSBC and no the mini bank in the council offices is not sufficient.

Visited the branch today with my two children and Graham was so very helpful. Really friendly and helped my children with what they needed

Lost my card in the atm machine in their branch. The staff were unhelpful and snarky to my situation, saying I should use the Lloyds atms across the way, if I didn?t trust their machines. The only bit of helpful advice that I got from them.

Awful experience. Most banks have people to greet you and offer assistance. HSBC Folkestone don't do this. I thought customer service was awful. If you value service bank at a different place.
