The Emmaus team did a house clearance for us. They did a great job , were good to deal with and it was reassuring that they were making every effort to re-sell or recycle as much as possible.

What an utter shame - a first time visitor as I had heard good reviews, and of course wanted to help the cause. I unfortunately dealt with the rudest individual (grey hair, glasses, male around mid 60?s) who absolutely should NOT be in a customer facing role. I reserved a sofa, which he wrote my name on to purchase, and stated on the card ?reserved until 4pm the next day?. I then confirmed I would return with my partner the next day, to which he snatched the card up from the sofa and said this was not the case, and proceeded to argue with me about what I had clearly witness him do. He then to my utter shock called me a liar in front of two other customers waiting behind me, who also walked out at his utter rudeness?! My first and last time in Emmaus. Good luck with this level of customer service!

Used to enjoy coming here as they had a huge range of items at reasonable prices.Visited today having not been for a while but found there was much less than usual and items very spread out.Nevertheless, I picked a couple of items I liked and asked how much, as neither were priced up. Well, prices have skyrocketed!Left empty handed- very disappointing

This is a wonderful outlet for furniture and should be your first port of call when looking for new items - sofas, chairs, tables, cabinets, everything you need really as well as numerous smaller items. I got a mint condition sofa for £70 plus a very reasonable £20 for delivery. Excellent choice ot items, excellent service and highly efficient, no-nonsense delivery at a time that suited me. Recommended.

Took a box of donations to the shop. All items were listed as accepted on their website. Staff member didn?t even look in the bag - just said they wouldn?t accept it. Took it elsewhere where it was gladly accepted. Won?t bother again with this place. Shame.

My only feedback is the service, very awkward service from staff in St Albans. They really need training. Every time I go there it feels uncomfortable because of the staff, they look at you weirdly and are voiceless which makes it very awkward, not even a hello or a smile or anything. Sometimes they can be helpful but this place needs to emphasise on customer service training if they want to thrive

So much more than a used furniture shop!! Emmaus effectively support homeless people by providing a home, training and support to work. They upcycle and build furniture, do upholstery, gardening, photography and more :)Read some success stories under "What we do" on their website, donate to this fab cause or shop in one of their 2nd hand shops.I noticed some bad reviews below about how heavily they vet items people donate but that is actually a plus point for buyers! I have bought many top quality items that have lasted years more than expected like my HUGE fridge! :)Rachel

The Hacro team at Emmaus made a stunning bespoke planter box for my balcony. I was blown away when I picked it up. Solid piece of workmanship and I absolutely love it. The team are very very talented and I can highly recommend Emmaus.

I took some items there to donate them and I was looked up and down and followed around the shop, they made me feel as if I was a suspect of something, they didn't take my donation. I received a very different treatment from the middle aged english woman that was there before me. You will be treated differently if you are not British. I've used emmaus in France many times. It's like day and night. Very pretentious here...
