Do not bank here! I cannot think of a single visit to this branch over the years which was anything special, memorable or even reasonably good for that matter.
The self-service machines in the branch are often faulty or there are long queues to use them which can often take too long to complete simple banking transactions like deposits and withdrawals.
I've had poor interactions with staff in the branch who in my opinion have not been knowledgeable, approachable or clearly willing to help. When the staff are available, which is a challenge, you need to deal with them at a small dark looking counter in the corner of the branch.
There are very few appointments to see staff and overall the branch is difficult to do business with. I've taken my banking elsewhere as there is plenty of choice in the area and I'd recommend friends, family and existing customers to do the same! Poor service and a dismal branch.

I came in the bank this week because I had lost my card and needed a cash. I was very pleased with the staff service, he showed me how to order a new card on the app and also use the QR code to withdraw cash without my card, his name was Juwon. A very professional and calm gentleman. Juwon was very patient and kind . 10/10 for portmouth branch team. Always a delight.

Was in the Portsmouth city branch last week, came in to use the machine and a staff helped out on the machine, a black guy with glasses ? he was really patient, pleasant and charming. I think he?s name is Juwon.
I had a great experience visiting the branch?. Is a Bank I will comfortably and boldly introduce to all my friends and colleagues. And thanks Barclays for having such an amazing staff.

They couldn't help me with my specific query, but the staff is generally quite friendly. Unfortunately it is a fact that banks provide less and less customer service nowadays, you kind of have to figure everything out for yourself.

I went to Barclays in Portsmouth to sort a problem out with my account the staff were helpful and we did get my problem solved but the most helpful member of staff was the security guard If I remember his name was Simon Crown very helpful and professional and a credit to the bank

Went in to pay into my grandchildren accounts . Lady accousted me to ask what I was there for .I explained she said I can do it on a machine . Try to show me but then said no I can't. Waited at the one and only counter for someone to help pay this money in while this lady kept telling me to do online banking or phone banking. I said no I don't do that . She still kept on saying scams are only done by phone calls . I might be old but I am not stupid and I don't need all this hassle once a month when I do this transaction . I have an hour bus ride to get to Portsmouth but in future once a month I will go to fareham again a long bus ride but if I meet this woman in portsmouth again I would be rude to her and I don't want to stoop that low .once a month I go to the bank and I don't need this annoyance.

Completely useless. made 2 trips for 0 result. thankx Barclays... down the drain in only a few years... replaced machines that don't print statements, no stamping them if i print them myself... if i want a statement i have to order it home and receive it in a week?! useless... you can't go any lower... close the branch just make it all online as you can't do anything anyway
