We called in after a walk around the area on a Sunday Lunchtime. The pub has a lovely open fire, lots of original features, it was very clean and the food was well presented, hearty and filling. The staff were friendly and service was great.

We were really well looked after by all members of staff. All meals were exceptional - delicious to eat, choice, presentation and timing. The bed was very comfortable and our ensuite bedroom was exceptionally clean, cosey and private. The hotel was so very reasonably priced for bed, breakfast and evening meal.

Staying at the Diggle Hotel was one of the highlights of my recent 3 days walking the Pennine Way. The fires were always on and the welcome provided by Sue and Billy was amazing. The very large breakfast with fresh coffee and real buttered toast was just what was needed for the walk from Diggle to Hebden Bridge. More pubs should be like the Diggle Hotel a real warm pub with real people.

I would love to give this place a good review- alas- I was so turned off by the owner (Billy?) that my brother and I left before we could order anything. For background, we were exploring the area as our ancestors were fixtures in the area. When I asked Billy if he knew the location of the pub that our 3rd G Grandparents ran in the 1840s (which was purported to be near the tunnels end in Diggle)- he immediately dismissed me- saying that it was never there. Apparently he thinks he's a historian. (BTW- I AM a Historian) We left to escape his toxic behavior. It turns out that our family pub (The Tunnel End Tavern) was actually the site of what is now The Diggle Hotel. How sad that we couldn't even return to walk in the footsteps of our ancestors. Boo.

Noteworthy details: If I could, I would give the Diggle Hotel 10 Stars on Service.Me and my friend arrived decluttered and soaked from the Pennine Way the other day at the hotel and a day of rest was just what we needed. The staff treated as very welcoming and even offered to give us free Coffee etc.100% recommendation. If you have a tent: they also offer a drying room.We had also a great time at the bar, where lots of Guests would gave us Advice about our journey.

Day 2 of the Pennine Way made easier by track straight down to this welcoming cosy, down to earth Diggle Hotel. Great beers, food and accommodating hosts. Lovely fluffy towels, clean rooms and really friendly helpful staff.
