I would like to make a complaint in relation to a visit to the shop in Oldham located at Market Place, Market Pl, Oldham OL1 1HE. I attended the shop this evening arriving at the tills at 4:50pm. There was only one staff present in the whole store. I reached the till at 17:02 and handed the cashier my item which consisted of 6 helium balloons, 2 balloon weights, candles, a number 4 candle, 6 banners, 4 cards and cellotape (would of amounted to around £35. I was then told by the cashier that she wouldn't be able to blow the balloons up (the only thing i really came into the town centre for) due to closing the tills at 5:15. When pointing out they couldn't possibly close the tills at 5:15 as the shop doesnt shut until 5:30pm she simply stated she wouldn't have time as her manager was too busy upstairs. I am appalled by this and am currently unable to finds any policies online in relation to closing your tills early or only serving helium balloons up until a certain time. The fact i travelled into oldham only to visit card factory and leave empty handed has been quite upsetting. It appears the staff in here only care about ensuring they leave at exactly 5:30pm and little about the customers who travel to the shop in traffic for 55 minutes to be refused the goods you sell almost 30 minutes before your close time.

The shop is bright and the staff are available on the shop floor to ask for help, the staff are friendly.

You can get cards, gifts, wrapping, etc - pretty much most things associated with a celebratory occasion, or a card and small gift off the cuff if you like. They sell at reasonable prices and the staff were helpful and friendly.

Simply does as it says,although sometimes you just can't find the right one,especially personal cards.Usually good range,plus all the things you need for that special occasion & more.

The staff is also helpful.
