I have been a member here for 9 months. On sign-up they do a tour, several things that were going to be upgraded and fixed haven?t been. They also advised that our membership would work in every other DL facility other than 4 in London. That?s a complete lie. There?s many it cannot be used in according to the app.The main issue for me and the reason we?ve stopped going is it?s simply not clean enough. Don?t assume the price of membership correlates with the standards of the clientele?Without fault every time you go there are towels left all over the place (despite there being enough collection points for people to leave them). More often than not there?s litter left in the showers.In particular, the worst thing I have seen is faeces on one of the large benches in the changing rooms, though this was only on one occasion and a cleaner did clean it after having to point it out.Another hazard which is very common, are disposable razor blades, which can often be found at the sinks and left in shower cubicles, along with some of what they?ve been used to remove. Nice.Something else I find surprising is things like toe nail clippings. Aren?t there just some things that should just be done at home? If not, why people cannot clean up after themselves is beyond me.We visited recently to see if there have been any improvements. An ample woman using the spa had certain parts that were not ?well contained? and left us feeling like we didn?t really want to sit anywhere they had ?. I cannot un-see this. Given most of the spa facilities are actually places you sit, it makes it somewhat unusable.DL should place hygiene wipes for cleaning surfaces and some polite notices for those clearly can?t think about their own hygiene habits and be considerate of others. They place them at the bodytrax machines, why can?t they put some in the spa for cleaning snail trails?Maybe some more bins around the place wouldn?t go amiss either.On multiple occasions there have been things out of order for one reason or another.The club do not get in contact when you have a complaint and the staff on the desk do not appear to care. I think maybe they?re desensitised to it.

Thank you for a lovely visit. Ian the duty manager took time to stop and speak to us and make sure our visit was a good one. Facilities were clean and well kept it's a shame that some members don't treat it with respect. Litter left in the spa area and changing room.

I visited David Lloyd gym in cheadle. The outdoor pool and spa area is a fabulous area to relax and unwind. The classes available are brilliant especially blaze and body pump. The staff are attentive and make you feel welcome especially the manager Ian who was very friendly and professional.

Been a member for 25 years. The facilities are top quality, but the service is terrible. From the reception staff who don?t greet you in any way, and barely look up if you make an enquiry, to the manager who doesn?t bother to react to complaints. DL Cheadle, you won?t retain members long term by treating them this badly. Terrible customer service

Majority of staff are great. Managers lack experience in how to run a club and the facilities are cheap and not maintained properly. There are cheaper health club's and gyms that know how to look after it's staff, members and equipment.When you join david Lloyd, for the price you expect 5 star facilities and a club that know what it's doing. But instead you get badly maintained facilities, extortionate prices (not just for the membership), a changing menu that is the same everytime, staff who are clearly under paid and over worked and managers who either lack experience or just don't care.If I didn't have friends there, I wouldn't give David Lloyd the time of day.This review was up for 5 years and it's worse today than ever. They have fired or redeployed most of their staff and there's hardly anyone on shift in the gym at all. Everything is dirty and prices keep going up. David Lloyd are going downhill rapidly and they don't care.

Today was my first visit to DL and I was very impressed. I attended the blaze class which is highly recommend to anyone that enjoys HIIT classes. The outdoor pool is lovely & the spa facilities are gorgeous. I would like to mention Ian who was very knowledgeable about the gym and what it has to offer and he made me feel very welcome on my first visit. I will definitely be going again soon.

Very dated and depressing gym. Signed up to trial advertising 'our world class spa' and the told can't use it. Literally ignored upon first arrival, not shown anywhere or told anything about facilities or even how to get out the car park. I've been to 4 gyms in the area, this is by far the worst and mosr unfriendly and costs 4 times the best gym in the area with a pool and sauna etc. Had been looking forward to trying this for a while but a huge disappointment.

Paid for a 14 day pass specifically for the spa use and turned up and not allowed to use spa with the pass I purchased??. This is false advertising a spa health club 14 day membership and claiming spa is not allowed to be used!!! Your website says ?unwind in the luxury spa? "£35 for 2 weeks?

Hello, I have been with David Lloyd Clubs cheadle for just over a month Since I thought before it was a respectable place where everyone felt welcome and could be there without judgement. However, the situation that happened to me was unnecessary and I decided to ultimately cancel my membership at their club.I came Wednesday the 9th of November, and tried to enter the club with my daughters card as I didn?t have mine on my person at that moment (my daughter is a minor and entrusted me to look after her card), one the ladies at the front desk stopped me and I didn?t recognise her, so I assumed she was new. She then stopped me and told me that the card I had didn?t belong to me, and I then told her that yes while it wasn?t my card it was my daughters and I have a membership with them anyway. She said that she didn?t believe me, I told her I was a diamond member and she continued to be persistent and say how she didn?t believe that I was a diamond member. I told her she could look in the system on the computers but she said that she wasn?t going to look and she knew I wasn?t a member. We went back and fourth with me asking her to look in the system as my face and name is there but she refused. So I asked to speak to the manager, she brought him and the situation ultimately got worse. As he took my card away and checked on the system and kept claiming that I didn?t have a membership even though I do , and he would not allow me inside. This situation made me feel as though both employees were discriminating against me as I do wear a hijab, and they were unprofessional in the way they handled things. Eventually, I was able to get my things out of the locker rooms, and the manager kept the card with him and did not give it back to me. I did leave, as I had work to do, but I was very disappointed with the service, and would never have thought that this kind of environment would be discriminatory.i will never advice any one to enter this place is not safe at all for us or our kids (Discrimination and very poor staff memebers including the manager very bad.

Visited here whilst staying in Manchester. Nice atmosphere. Very spacious, so much so that it was a bit like a maze for a newcomer. Pretty basic gym equipment, some of which was a bit dated. Could do with renewing some of the weight machines, and should definitely add a hack squat!! Great social area. Good staff on reception. Give it a refresh and update machines, and it will be 5 star.

I recently became a member of David Lloyd and have been nothing but impressed by the standard of the gym and the quality of the equipment. The staff are always so friendly and helpful - specifically Callum who showed me around and helped me to become a member.I'm so glad that I have joined David Lloyd!
