Absolutely the worst bank. The fraud team flagged my account and put all my funds on hold because my friend transferred some funds INTO my account. They flagged that as fraud. They wanted a contract between me and my friend with an agreement as to how and when I will pay him back. Why did your friend transfer the money into your account and lots of absolutely ridiculous questions which are non of their business!
When i said I won?t provide you with any answers to your ridiculous questions and asked them to return the money to the sender. They said no we can?t do that. So they won?t give me the money and they won?t send it back. So basically they are ROBBING ME and my FRIEND!
Don?t bank with this fraudulent bank! I am definitely closing my account with them!

Extremely poor experience. It took four separate appointments on different days just to attempt to open a basic current account. Staff appear inexperienced, and there is a clear lack of communication and coordination between team members.
The last appointment was extremely uncomfortable ? four different staff members (including Dijle, Carlos, and Enea) spent 30 minutes behind a desk trying to open the account. I was told everything was set, only to be contacted again and asked to come back another time.
I even suggested to Enea that I could send him a PDF of my documents if their system wasn?t working properly, but he refused ? only to call the next day to ask me to do exactly what I had already suggested. I agree with other reviews ? no wonder so many people walking into this branch are there to complain about issues on their accounts. The whole process was disorganised from start to finish and wasted a considerable amount of my time.

What kind of bank doesn?t let you print if a replacement card in store. How is making your customers wait 7-10 days even fair it?s ridiculous. Tragic..

Don't waste your time for commercial finance.
The regional managers and underwriters are not interested - they will refer to other brokers as the bank does not lend !
The managers will get kick back from the introduction.
Although they have the banking licence they act like a licenced deposit taker ( Think BCCI).
Avoid Metro for business account and lending - Their profiling of customers is pre 1970's !!

Poor branch with ridiculous waiting queues and lack of customer service. Have a safety deposit box here and would recommend going elsewhere for the little extra they charge. They make you wait ages just to access your box and have zero care or value for your time. Dont even get me started on their services in general.

I do not recommend banking with Metrobank. They claim to be a people's bank, but my experience has been quite the opposite. Their fraud team is inadequate, and they have taken funds from my account without any notification. Due to their incompetence, I am now in a terrible situation with no funds in my account and unable to borrow from anyone to cover my bills. They lack compassion, and it?s no surprise that they are struggling!

I have found the staff professional and helpful, the accounts are good, I have both business and personal accounts. The bank charges used to be zero as long as you were in credit of £5000.00. This has since changed, I assume this was unworkable, but the charges are minimal and tax deductible. I do keep the accounts below £80K so if there are solvency issues, I'm covered, but apply this to all banks.

Besides the obvious fact that a lot of people are mad about this place and their staff for the lack of customer service; if we objectively look at the facts, this bank(branch) is probably the most inefficient I?ve ever had to visit.
They don?t have a host, either a person or digital to sign in and determine what you want to do, or give you a time slot.
Queues go out the door; and you would think it?s because they are understaffed and sympathise with them but there are 3+ people constantly behind the desk doing nothing.
You have to queue to tell them your business, then wait in the 5 person dedicated waiting area where you?ll have to stand because there will be 5+ people in front of you.
Most office workers only have their lunch breaks to come and do their banking, so naturally 2 members of staff go on lunch at the same time, prolonging the wait.
Big boss comes out his glass office to meet a big customer (I assume) and makes one of the tellers go get this guy a coffee when there were 12 people waiting.
A banking transaction that in action took me 1 minute to complete in reality took over an hour.
They have prime real state, the opportunity to strive for results but they are just stagnant. They don?t even have a cash deposit ATM. You have to get an app (not Metros?) to deposit money which is just data harvesting.
I assume queues going faster and a smooth service wouldn?t help justify them being there or their salaries.
Do not bank here unless you have no other choice.

Very similar experience to others. I was first into the branch and left to wait for an hour. I was told there were no customer advisors available because they were having a meeting and I would be next. The next customer who came in without an appointment was then seen next. Holborn is Metro?s head office. It is an appalling flagship. Standards have slipped dramatically over the years and I will be closing my account.

This bank 100% deserves to go bust. In my experience I found the staff to be an are an unhelpful, miserable, moody bunch. All I was trying to do was change the limit on a credit card in person after being bounced around by their customer service on email for about a week. Like other commenters, I managed to apply for a brand new card with the limit I needed in about 5 minutes while waiting for the man at metro to ask me the same questions over and over (not about the card, about who I?d been emailing) and tap at his computer. Didn?t see a single smile from any member of staff the whole time I was in there so the only consolation is that the staff are clearly just as miserable as the customers.
