A lovely man called Ali helped me in the self checkout today. He really went above and beyond and he didn't need to. I was making a right hash out of it and he was so patient with me. Give him a smile next time you are in store!

This retail giant does not have a clue about how to look after its customers. Shopping with your mobile phone is a nightmare. Unlike at Tesco, you have to switch on mobile data, location and NFC on your phone. Then, if you are really lucky, the app might allow you to scan your items. This is patchy at best depending on where you are in a store. Scanning frequently stops or bombs out completely. This happens even even with the latest version of Android. Staff suggest that you connect to the in store WiFi. This requires you to provide your whole life history before you are allowed access and even then it didn't work for me.Smart shop was announced with great fanfare last year, but still no dedicated till for shoppers who use the shopping app. This means that any time saved by using the app is lost as you still have to hang around in a queue to pay!As you shop with app and pay at till, it often stops you from doing so and requests that you get some of your shopped items validated by a member of staff. This just wastes so much more time, up to 15-20 mins!Just when you have left your credit/debit card at home and are using your mobile phone to pay for a shop, it will ask you to validate the shop with your debit/credit card. Have had to leave my shopping behind and do it all over again on a few occasions for this reason! The app does not retain even a basic record of each shop.What is the point of having a shopping app if its sole purpose is to waste time instead of saving time?You cannot complain in writing via email as there isn't one available on the website anymore!For this retailer, it seems quite clear that shoppers are just one big inconvenience!

I was refused to be served because she claimed I didn?t look 25 so I got challenged, I then proceeded to give my driving licence to the lady at self check out. Who then was like the licence is expired when it was the valid from date? and said she doesn?t believe me so then I show her a bank statement with my name and any other cards and she still refuses to serve me after having spoke to another college who said it?s fine and despite that she asked for my passport and who on Earth carries around their passport? No one so instead I show a picture and she still denies to serve me. Absolutely clueless member of staff. And then had the audacity to say we are open till 10 or whatever you can come back with your passport? why would I even come back when you treat your customers like idiots

A well chosen range of products from different countries. I went crazy with the variety of McVities biscuits. Taramasalata was available and I my shopping was a highlight. Oh there are much more for everyone's likeness....
