I rue the day I opened a Barclays account. Every single interaction I?ve had in the bank has been excruciatingly painful. The lack of communication is just stunning, and one wouldn?t expect such poor customer service from a leading UK bank, but alas. They seem to have closed many branches in the surrounding areas, and they have shortened their hours to 9:30 - 15:00. It?s hardly enough time for the endless line of customers they need to serve. On August 14, 2023, I walked in to complete a large transfer, and I waited 90+ minutes to be served. The thing is, I can?t even blame any of the employees because they too are stretched thin for the volume of inquiries customers have. It?s a bitterly disappointing experience to bank with Barclays.

Just been told that I need an appointment to sort out an issue - fair enough. But I can't book the appointment online and there is a 30-minute queue to book an appointment! - which I was told was "not busy, and that sometimes it can take much longer". - what a joke.

Unprofessional appointment service! I made an appointment on Thursday with them they booked me for the next Saturday. He put the appointment in his handbook! When I came to the branch on the day of the appointment they said we do not have a booking under this name. I am 6 months pregnant you have no right to do this people!

Woeful...i had to wait for ages, eventually got seen and the individual did not know how to deal with the particular issue, so sought advice from manager; who also did not know how to sort. It took them 40 minutes between them to fathom out how to deal. Better training needed, more staff needed, and better customer service. Come on Barclays you can do better.

I received a letter from the Barclays bereavement team today to say my Mother?s credit card account was being referred to a debt collection agency. I immediately called them to ask why and they said that her credit card had not been paid off after she died in November 2022 and that I had not responded to a letter regarding this that they sent me in January DURING THE ROYAL?MAIL STRIKES. I never received the letter and asked the agent why Barclays had not phoned me regarding the issue. The agent told me that Barclays only communicate via email. ( Well perhaps they need to reform their practices ??) ??As executor I would have been able to immediately settle my Mum?s credit card bill with her Barclays Bank account funds however they froze her account as soon as I notified them of her death so my hands are tied and now I need to wait to hear from the debt collection agency. ??My Mother was a loyal Barclays customer for many years and would be appalled at the way they have handled this sensitive situation.

Easily their worst branch. I was told it could take an hour for me to have a simple change made and was asked to join the queue. Two people who arrived after me were seen before me and when I questioed it was told they had appointments which was a lie as I had been speaking to them. INCOMPETENCE AND LIES! After 1hour.....still waiting.

I recently opened a ISA for my elderly mother and we had the pleasure of dealing with Marcin Chojnowski ( Personal Banker) and we have to say his Customer Service, Knowledge and his expertise has been exceptional.

A really disappointing experience. My thoughts on re-entering this branch after the pandemic were 'chaos banking'. The machines constantly fail and the personnel at the front are not well trained in communication, people management or banking competency. It seems that others have the same impression. What a shame! For decades this was a great barclays branch now I will be avoiding it at all costs.

I've tried to open a classic bank account. I've submitted all the required documents, needed to wait for 2 month for an appointment just to prove my identity ( this was my first bank account here in UK) and at the due date they informed me that there is a small disparity in the papers I've provided. Ok!!!...and now the question is: why you have asked all that papers to be provided on line if nobody doesn't care about it? Why should I've waste 2 month being convinced that your very serious bank did his work and had checked the papers and everything its ok? Observing the queues I understand that I have to wait other 2 months just to open a classic account? Do you think its normal to take about half a year for this operation? Total unprofessional!!!

Horrendous. Haven?t been in this branch for the past 3 years. Waited to speak to someone15 min- told me to queues up (30min) lady at desk said I was in the wrong queue- left as the queue was another 30-40 min wait. All I want to do is transfer money and I won?t need the bank for another 10 years how can something run so bad. Everyone?s as confused as each other

An absolutely horrendous experience to have as a new customer trying to open a new account. Every single thing that you can think of is wrong with Barclays from quality of service, of products, timeliness.

I have deliberately visited the branch @3pm in the hoprle there would be less people. But having only one person on the help desk is ridiculous!!! Inevitably each person's transaction takes time and its not fair to leave one staff to deal with frustrated customers! Whats your solution?somw time
