Service has gone from 5 Star from Clayton that used to be there a good few years back. From 2023 till now the service has dropped rapidly. One white lady with short hair, piercing.. slim, short hair she is very stuck up with a really bad attitude. For me I struggle with pumping my tyres & I go there to ask for help if they can do it as I never can I'm always snapping the tip off my inner tube pipe off. I have difficulty using this. Every time I have asked for help they always say "I will show you how to" when I say I struggle with difficulty that woman still pushes your limit. Either she doesn't want to do her job properly or she's just untrained in customer service.I used to go Evan's alot to purchase items but because of my recent experience from the lack of customer service, I've just stopped shopping their.I do go Halford's Balham instead and give them my custom due to the fact I always get approached with a warm welcome in Evans... YOU DON'T even get a smile yet alone "how are you"I don't recommend this store in general, all the nice staff have left clearly for a reason.Any Maintenance itself for my bike I travel to "Wallington Cycles" although yes it's slightly far it's worth the hassle and I always get my bike repaired, never over charged and bikes fixed rapid.

Rang up to enquire if they had a small size inner tube 26? 1.35 The gentleman who answered rudely decided I needed a lecture regarding the rarity of the size and how I?m the 1st person to ever ask for that size since he started working there? Appalling attitude and customer service. The staff there clearly hate their job and their lives as a whole.

Needed to urgently replace a broken pedal and Paul could not have been more helpful. Gave great advice and had it fixed in minutes.

Appalling service, just had my bike stolen and called up to find out the details of my bike. The guy at the Clapham store told me they only keep records for 6 months as that's the law. Not the law at all! Totally unhelpful and rude. Do not shop here!

I?ve spent hundreds in this store but no more. I got a service recently and they told me I need to replace my chain, brake pads and drive train - after upselling me because I don?t know much about bikes. They didn?t replace the brake pads as they didn?t arrive in time before the mechanic went to work. The drive train was installed loosely. Then after taking the bike home I realised the (paid for) brake pads weren?t replaced as I got an email saying they?ve not arrived yet - not that the store staff told me.After having to explain the situation several times, 2x people on phone calls told me they can install the pads for free as this happens a lot. After taking it in again for the fitting (that I?d already paid) - I then got a call telling me that 1) I need to pay for the brake pad fitting and 2) it needs a full service and replacing the drive train which I have to pay for, yes the one that they fitted. After once again explaining the situation that they have caused they didn?t accept it. I went back, took my bike and will be taking it elsewhere. There?s also no excuse for the rudeness and incompetence of the staff I?ve been dealing with. It puts a bad light on the good staff. People take their bikes in for repair because they are desperate and need help, they shouldn?t be taken advantage of.Won?t be returning.

Absolutely appalling. I was lied to in order to spend money and book my bike in for a service. Once I got home, fixed the bike myself and figured I was lied to, I returned to the store to return (the same day) the chain I was advised to buy. When I did, they refused to refund the purchase and issued a credit note, again, (not telling me they were going to issue a credit note after saying they would refund it). Appalling staff, service, attitude and complete lack of willingness to help. I will avoid this store like the plague and advise everyone else to do the same.

Boyfriend bought a bike here, and in a few months the motor got ruined, he took it back to the store. They said they would fix it. But after many months of calling for updates, they keep saying the piece for the motor still hasn?t arrived yet. Meanwhile he?s still paying the direct debit for the bicycle. When he isn?t even using the bicycle he is paying for. It seems ridiculous to me that they cannot offer a rough time frame for when this ?supposed piece? will arrive. The whole situation is a joke.

Always great service from Clapham Evans. I almost always get flats in Clapham and they always go the extra mile to get me back on my bike for school pick up.

Really great service getting my pedals changed to cleats - and the guy showed me how to do it for next time! :)

They actively refuse to assist or repair bicycles, are deliberately combative and abusive to customers. The bicycle repair technician here should be fired.

Visited this store several times with bike repair issues and the overwhelming feeling when I leave is that the guys hate their jobs and are just plain rude. One guy replaced my chain, made it worse and then had a go at me when I came back to have him re check it. I actually dread asking these guys for help. I?m going to try Apex which is opposite as the reviews seem much better in terms of staff being friendly. I?ll be wanting to buy a new bike soon but these guys have put me off going back here.

I picked up a puncture on my commute home during a torrential downpour. Thankfully I wasn?t too far away from here. The guys in the shop fixed it straight away and were very helpful and friendly. The mechanic even checked my chain for ware and noted a couple of others things that might need looking at in the near future. I was back out the door and on my way in under 20 minutes. Really great service.

The man with long hair/ponytail is unnecessarily rude, I went in as my brakes are squeaking. I don?t know much about bike so I went in blindly looking for help and advice. The young guy who was assisting me at first was very polite and I explained to him the issue to which he then spoke to the guy with long hair who was abrupt. Basically told me off And hardly even looked at the bike. Didn?t really offer any solutions looked at me like I was stupid when I asked a question. So if you don?t know much about bikes, don?t go to the man with the ponytail.

What a star Chris was! I popped in with my electric bike and flat tyres and loose brake pads and Chris fixed them all on the spot for me, so I could be a safe cyclist rather than one about to fall off and be injured! Thanks Chris, your kindness really made my day :-)
