Dependable department store that's been around for a long time. Excellent warranties on electrical products - give 2 yr warranties as standard on most electrical products compared to 1 yr in other stores. Big choice of goods - whether clothes, homewares, kitchenwares, school uniforms, electricals, curtains, fabrics, white goods and many more. Excellent customer service with very knowledgeable and helpful staff - particularly in the electrical department. Deliver to home, and also take away old items (eg. White goods) for a charge. Recommended!

Two lovely ladies were incredibly helpful in assisting me with my search for a handbag. They checked the drawers and genuinely seemed interested in helping, unlike most staff who would simply say items not on display are not in stock. Although we couldn?t find it, I didn?t get their names, but one lady was from the handbag department, and the other seemed to be from a different section, but both were lovely ladies. Thank you ladies.

I always enjoy shopping at John Lewis however today I had a very different experience.
We came in specifically to look for school shoes for my daughter. We walked over to the children?s shoe section which I assumed would be busy. There were a few parents there clearly doing the same thing and two members of staff stood by the door to the stock room. We looked at a few shoes and then I looked around and asked a staff member if they were using a ticket system. At no point did anyone ask if I needed any help. They said no and I proceeded to ask if they could measure my daughter?s feet. The response was ?she needs socks? and I asked if they had any pop socks as most other shoe shops had provided these (it?s a warm day so she had sandals on) the colleague just shook their head and that was the end of the conversation. I felt like a massive inconvenience to them. Another lady was just sat there saying ?they are just standing there!??
It was an extremely disappointing experience. We walked away without so much as an apology or even a final word! It was all very odd and certainly not something I would expect from a member of staff at JL, especially as they have always taken pride in their customer service. It has put me off returning in the future.

As as shopper at JLP Brent Cross, I used to be happy with the service. I decided to come here on a hot summers day. I initially came there to purchase a mid-range Samsung phone. The staff seemed less interested when I was on a budget. They disappeared for over 20mins which is a shame because I then decided I wanted the more expensive Flip 7FE. So I left the store without purchasing the more expensive phone.

I had a frustrating experience at John Lewis Brent Cross around 10am today when I tried to return a Carolina Herrera perfume I bought just yesterday at the Oxford Street branch as a gift for my mum.
When we opened it, we found that the bottle was leaking, with visible residue on the bottle and stains inside the box. This clearly fell under John Lewis?s return policy, which states that faulty items can be returned with proof of purchase.
Despite this, the staff at Brent Cross refused to process the return, repeatedly asking if we had dropped it, and saying that if it had leaked, the whole box ?should be wet? and ?cannot return it from the business perspective?. But what about the customer?s perspective wasting money on a faulty item? They completely dismissed the obvious signs of leakage and refused to acknowledge the fault, instead telling us to go to the Oxford Street store where it was purchased.
When we went to Oxford Street, the experience was completely different. Staff there immediately accepted the return, apologised, and confirmed the product was clearly faulty. They even said that Brent Cross should have accepted the return and that they would raise the issue as a concern.
It?s frustrating and frankly embarrassing that the John Lewis store at Brent Cross provided such inconsistent service, especially when another branch (Oxford Street) acknowledged the item was clearly faulty, processed the return immediately, and even stated that Brent Cross should have accepted it. Brent Cross?s failure to follow the company?s own returns policy resulted in a completely avoidable, time-wasting, and disappointing experience.

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Poor Customer Service at Brent Cross Store
unacceptable level of customer service I experienced today, 5 August 2025, at your Brent Cross branch
I visited the store at approximately 3:20 PM with the intention of purchasing an Apple Watch for my daughter?s birthday. Upon arriving at the Apple desk on the second floor, I noticed there were no staff members available. After waiting for some time with no assistance, I approached a manager named Richard to ask if someone could help us.
To my dismay, Richard responded with an abrupt and dismissive tone, raising his hands and saying, ?Can you wait a minute, I?ll get someone,? without any courtesy or acknowledgment. I had simply asked politely, ?Excuse me, can you help me?? but his manner came across as rude and unprofessional.
I expressed my concern by stating that I found his attitude inappropriate. After some further delay, he asked a male shop assistant to assist me. Still feeling frustrated by his lack of basic courtesy, I requested to speak to another manager. Richard again walked away with the same dismissive attitude.
Shortly after, Zoe, the Deputy Manager, came to speak with me. While I appreciated her intervention, as I was explaining the situation to her, I noticed that Richard was hovering around the conversation, making me feel very uncomfortable. His presence felt intrusive and unprofessional.
At one point, I asked him directly, ?Have you finished walking up and down?? to which he responded, ?I?m doing my job,? again with the same dismissive and defensive attitude. This interaction completely ruined what should have been a pleasant shopping experience. I ultimately chose to leave the store without making any purchase due to the stress and disappointment caused by his behaviour.
As a loyal customer of John Lewis, I am extremely disappointed. The lack of basic customer service skills, particularly from someone in a managerial position, is unacceptable. I am requesting that this incident be formally investigated, and that appropriate steps be taken to address this issue.
Appropriate customer service training will be provided to prevent similar experiences in the future.
