“Went as a group of 4, warm welcome and really fabulous food. I had hake with mussels, prawns and scallops, delicious. Pigeon pie and lamb were also rated very highly, thank you we'd love to come again”

“We had a wonderful 2 nights stay in July. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was amazing. The staff were very friendly and we and our dog were made to feel very welcome both in the restaurant (a separate area for dogs) and in our room which included a lovely dog basket and treat for our pup.”

“Stayed on a Monday night while visiting family near by. What a find!! Lovely rooms and great food being served on the "pot luck " half price Monday evening service. Staff were friendly and efficient , nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent, localy sourced bacon and sausages which tasted superb. Best breakfasts we have had while staying away for a long time. We will definitely be staying here again when visiting family in the Forest.”

“Myself and my visitor from Belfast booked a table with ease and had steak from the Grill menu. Both our rump steaks were cooked to our liking. Lovely large flat mushrooms x 2: grilled tomato with a choice of chunky chips or new potatoes. Option of side dishes to accompany meal are listed on the menu list. Staff were attentive and friendly throughout the meal. Nice crisp Pino Grigio wine and Peroni Zero lager just hit the spot. After our meal we sat in the bar for a coffee to finish. Mood lighting and lovely atmosphere. Will definitely return!”

“Never had a lodge stay before, but if they're all as good as this I will definitely do more! Very clean well provided and presented, in a really good location to access lots of areas of the forest for walking and numerous good gastro pubs within a 5 minute drive , plus the hot tub is amazing, loved a soak first thing watching the bird's on the feeders, do yourself a favour and stay here ?”
