I am sure the main Costa in SGH is glorious. The one by the car park. (Benfleet ward) that is another story. To quote my mother. ‘I have never known how coffee can be made with so much hate’

The Costa Coffee bar is inside of the main entrance at Southend University Hospital, there is a good selection of hot and cold drinks/snacks at reasonable prices, and the service is very quick with very polite staff.

Been using Costa in the Cardigan wing for over a week. Staff have been pleasant until today. Young girl serving was miserable, grumpy,rude and lacking manners. In response to me asking why she couldn't be more pleasant, she gave me a coffee so hot I burnt my mouth. Never before have I been treated so badly.Her senior said, well everyone has bad days. Yes they do, my Dad's dying,so I don't expect rude behaviour when I take a coffee break.

Costa Coffee never disappoints! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for both a quick coffee on the go and a relaxed sit-down with friends. The staff are always friendly and polite, and they really take the time to make you feel looked after.
The coffee is consistently excellent?smooth, rich, and served just the way you like it. Their selection of pastries and snacks is a great complement, and everything is fresh and tasty. The shop itself is clean, comfortable, and a great spot to get some work done or simply unwind.
Whether you?re a regular or just passing through, Costa always feels like a little home away from home. Highly recommended!

I come here often as i have scheduled appointments regularly, can be smooth quick service occasionally- however most often I find it slow paced and just a little chaotic when more orders pile in. The workers keep it calm when taking your order. Sometimes I have to wait 10-15 mins for a single drink, even with being next in line. The drinks never disappoint, but the food does!! (wouldn?t recommend the toasties)

Had to wait 10 mins for latte/1 slice toast although only one customer in front of me. £5.40.
In Greg's you get served very quickly, with a smile AND £2.89 for bacon roll and latte. COSTA IS DISGUSTINGLY OVERPRICED. Should not be I a hospital. Put a Greg's in. Used twice a week as daughter has 2 hourly app. Each week
