“I love the new Primark its so much better than the old one because there is so much more stuff and more of a selection like in homeware/pyjamas.\\nNice changing rooms, friendly staff and can find anything I want here. Love the makeup, face masks, and they have some cool self pampering products :) Cant go wrong with primark!”

“Millets is located on the first floor, you can get in to the store up the stairs or up in the lift. There are lots of outdoor clothing options, camping equipment and so much more. It is a great place to pick up necessities regarding D of E. We will definitely be visiting again soon.”

“Well laid out & stocked. Most staff except for one very friendly and accommodating. Prices a little high for the goods, however as they aren't as fashionable and well made as some other chains. Lighting and layout and design of displays excellent. Changing rooms available.”

“Great variety of clothes for us plus sized ladies and gents. Yes, they are expensive, BUT the quality lasts, so you can't really complain as it doesn't need replacing as often. Plus, i dont know about anyone else, but shopping online or elsewhere stuff comes through already frayed and falling apart. Be back again soon as i got a gift card for my momma to use ?”

“My partner and I popped in to get me some clothes as nothing I had fit very well. Upon entering, we are greeted with a lovely warm smile by Marion. While I am trying on half the shop, she keeps my partner busy and entertained with conversation (which I am incredibly grateful for as he is not the most patient shopper haha). In addition to this amazing service, she helped us with checking out and ensured we got the best discount possible on our haul, with our Matalan cards. I am incredibly grateful to Marian as she helped me find clothes I felt comfortable in and gave incredible service. Thank you so much!!!!”

“Really good Superdrug store with a huge selection of make up for the size of the store! My daughter loves it, as they stock E.L.F cosmetics, when other local Superdrug stores don't. Staff are amazing, super helpful. Gets busy, but queues go down quickly due to attentive staff. I highly recommend this store.”

“Has an amazing range of things you never knew you wanted, but all so very interesting, like Taiwanese grass jelly one visit, although it's not there the next. However there may be Japanese rice crackers instead... Always a pleasant, surprising visit.”

“Had a brilliant experience at M&S today thanks to Emma on the top floor. I had a gift receipt that had been in my wallet for a couple of months and had faded. Emma helped me to get the correct number from the barcode so that my money wasn’t lost. She was really understanding and helpful and made me realise how more stores need to be like M&S - service with a smile! Thanks again”

“Went for 2 pairs of trainers and a pair of walking boots for my son. I wasn’t sure if he needed a 12 or 13, so asked for both sizes in the 6 different trainers meaning the guy had to get 12 boxes from the stock room. They had both sizes in every trainer he’d chosen, which I was impressed by.
The man who helped us (Danny) also got the 2 different sizes of walking boots - even though they were on the shop floor (which I thought was super helpful) .

“A lovely boutique where you can always find something just that little bit different/individual. Michelle always suggests stylish clothes (which I might not necessarily choose myself) but when I try them on I invariably end up buying them!”

If you go in to buy some shoes, make sure you don't go in a hurry! There's not a lot of staff, but the prices are worth the wait...”

“Clothes are often over priced, and the floor is understaffed meaning theres a bit of a wait to get shoes. However the staff are really friendly, the music’s always banging, shops are clean and well laid out. Great bags too, have no idea how they’re only 5p.”

“The British Heart Foundation shop in Southend is easy to find, situated at the sea end of the High Street, opposite the Royals Shopping centre. Helpful, pleasant and friendly staff are always on hand in this well-stocked and busy shop.”

“Argos being located within Sainsbury's hasn't made any difference to me personally (apart from 2-3 mins further walking!). Argos now having Customer parking will no doubt make collections a much easier process than from where they were previously located!”

“I ordered from here before reading the reviews on google - only once I read them I figured “I’m never gonna get my stuff”. I was wrong. Ordered a custom T-shirt and arrived within 3 days - absolutely perfect. It is however impossible to get a hold of them by phone or email, which makes it seem fishy… but nothing but good things to say about the product and speed.”

“I had some fantastic service from someone on the shop floor whom I cannot remember their name, and Jacqui (Kershaw?) at customer services that needs to be highlighted.

I live overseas and when I was back in the UK visited my local Asda for Yorkshire tea amongst other things. Unfortunately, the tea was out of stock but the helpful guy advised me on the next delivery time and pointed me in the way of customer services whom he said would hold a box back for me. I did as suggested and Jacqui took a note of my name and number. She then called me on the day of arrival and I picked it up the next day. She was not working that day so I missed an opportunity to thank her personally but want her to be recognised here. Thank you Jacqui and the shop floor assistant! You can take the man out of England, but not the England out of the man! Fantastic service!”

“If you love a bargain, but prefer new items or very good condition secondhand ones, then oxfam Southend is definitely worth a look. With the best opening hours of any charity shop I've ever visited, this one rarely closes before 6pm! Prices are a little steeper than I really like in my charity shops, but there's a lot of brand new stock from M&S, sainsbury and some really lovely things (like Ted Baker brand new dresses) on offer. Clean, bright and well organised display areas. Friendly, helpful manager and volunteers. Fitting room available Occasional events and competitions. Books, media, collectable, children's toys and clothing, home wares, men's and ladies' wear, accessories and jewellery.”
