Used to be good but got I charged for things I wasn't given and then they wouldn't refund or provide the items, really rude and annoying that they basically just stole my money.

I agree with last reviewer. I walked in at 7.45 today to two grumpy young girls. I used to come in a lot before work at a GP surgery, the manager and all the staff were very cheery. How that's changed. It was as if I was putting these girls out by coming in, let alone wanting service. I requested that my croissant be warmed, wow! How dare I make such a request! one of the girls sighed, banged the croissant into the 'oven' slamming the door. However these 2 girls are very happy when they don't have to serve customers but can gossip among themselves. Shocking service. Really gone down hill. Also the table I sat at was vwet dirty. Needless to say I won't be coming in here again. I also heard another man complaining about the service whilst I was in there.Julie. Eastbourne

To say the customer service is bad would be an understatement. Glared at me for daring to walk in, didn't ask what I would like just stood at till and glared at me again. Then till froze and she took my card, I asked for it back and she snapped that she was going to give it back. I walked out. Really don't need an attitude with my morning coffee.

Since being taking over with new management and having a fresh set of staff the place is so much more welcoming and clean than it has ever been great service and warm welcomes and if I ask for extra hot that?s what I get very helpful with explaining drinks if you have questions I used to always just have take out but now I find myself dine in and enjoying my coffee and cake or lunch and always engaging in conversation with staff that are so friendly

The whole place was filthy, floor, tables and toilets. I cleaned my own table with a cloth and spray that was left on the side! I immediately regretted ordering. There were two women behind the counter working slowly, disinterested. It wasn't busy, there were a coupe of tables occupied. Based on this experience I would never return to this Costa, it was so dirty, the place hadn't been cleaned for ages and I wouldn't recommend in any way, which is a shame as I like a Costa generally. How this Costa has managed 4 stars is beyond me.
