This lovely family-owned pub was my location for an overnight stop in my self sufficient van. The location was solid and felt very safe for a solo female travelling through Dartmoor. The drinks were good, service excellent and people (both those serving and the locals) were so nice. Highly

Had a lovely long walk with our three jack Russell's I had heard the pub was quite the jem for a pub lunch,so booked a table, so glad because busy, we had two roast beef with home made Yorkshire pudding sweed cauliflower cheese parsnips cabbage jug of gorgeous gravy excellent roast potatoes pipping hot, we left feeling...

From The White Thorn Inn
A proper Devonshire country pub at the heart of the Shaugh Prior community, on the south-western side of Dartmoor, just 8 miles from the city of Plymouth.
Come and join us for some hearty, homemade food, local drinks and regular entertainment. Food is served Wednesday to Sunday between 12:00 - 14:30 and 16:30 - 20:00.
Families, dogs, horses and farmers welcome - non biting farmers only please!
Outside seating available for those sunny days through to the evening and get cosy with the roaring fire in the winter months.
