“One of my favourite quick stops. Nice pricing and a decent selection of products for such a small store. With very few exceptions, the staff will always greet you with a smile too.”

“Good local supermarket. In store bakery. As you would expect. Very popular. Good range of produce and well stocked. Near the hospital and yes they do enforce the carpark rules!”
“Local convenience store located at Barton shops, much better than tescos metro next door, wider range and more fresh food offerings, lifts of deals and friendly staff”

“For the people living in The Willows, Torquay, Sainsbury's Supermarket is like a cornor shop but a big cornor shop. It has Argos, Specsavers and Money Exchange section. I have used all of them and found them very convenient for their availability of opening times and serving with high customer care. Quality of items is the same as elsewhere and as expected.
The supermarket stocks a large variety of items and has ventured into home decorations, kitchen utensils, and clothing from simple groceries to almost everything its competitors are providing. The quality of its own named products have improved in the last 22 years, I have been shopping there for my main weekly groceries. Recent competition with Aldi and Lidle, both nearby has kept prices down and comparable. The Nectar Loyality card is particularly useful. You get special Nectar discount on quite a few branded and Sainsbury's own products, which saves significant money as the price difference is significant from non Nectar prices. This way the overall grocery shopping remains competitive to nearby Aldi and Lidle over long periods. As an icing on the top, I collect the Nectar points all year round and only spend them once a year near Christmas to either buy gifts, or something nice for me and my family. Even if I can't find anything, I can alway buy credits on Gift cards on all sorts of Gift cards sold within the shop. If nothing else, Nectar points pay for my one weeks groceries near Christmas.
The items at Bakery are excellent and fresh. I only buy them on special occasions as treats.
One thing I would liketo mention is that over last 20 years, the estate of Willows has grown substantially. Therefore the shelfs need restocking frequently. I can see that the staff is working very hard to do that. Usually if i can't find an item one day, if I return the next day, it is back on shelf. Hence the benefit of it being a cornor shop. Occasionally if it's not on shelf for more than one day, I find a staff member who can look up their stock checker device and can tell me what day it might be back. The staff are very helpful. There are a few who are physically challenged but I have had no problem with them. They are similarly helpful as others. These staff members have been working there for many years. I admire this quality of Sainsbury's to value people from all backgrounds and abilities.
The self service check outs are great. The only thing I wish my local Sainsbury's should do is to consider having another floor laid up on the ground floor. This will help them expand the groceries section downstairs, will provide the existing restaurant a bigger and better foot space upstairs and allow Sainsbury's to venture into new areas, collaborating with more high street brands and bringing them under one roof. Outside Parking is huge, location is great, Sainsbury's Willows in Torquay can really invest into this expansion, reaping rewards in future with changing customer habits.”

“The Asda in Torquay is a really handy supermarket with a good range of groceries, fresh produce, and household items. The store layout is easy to follow, and the George clothing section is a bonus for picking up clothes and home essentials. Click & Collect is convenient and usually runs smoothly.
Staff are generally friendly and helpful, and the accessibility options—like wide aisles, mobility scooters, and accessible toilets—make it easier for everyone to shop. Parking is spacious too, which is a big plus.
At busy times it can feel crowded, and occasionally a few items are out of stock, but overall it’s a reliable place to do the weekly shop.”

“One of the better Tesco expresses this one. They've had some ropey staff for sure, but today's team (12.3.25, 11am) are the best. The young lady who I believe is a manageress is awesome, the lady on the till is always friendly, and the gentleman who was happy to help while topping up the meal deals is a credit. Cheers guys.”

“Handy local convenience store. More expensive than a main Sainsbury's, by the time a bus or two each direction not worth going. Limited stock but reasonable, can get most things if not another competitor near by. Selection of plants new to this store when first arrive excellent value, sadly not looked after. Have mentioned to members of staff rarely does it get done. Otherwise good team!!?”

“This review is about M&S opticians at the Willows shopping centre, Torquay.Having being a Spec****** customer for 25 years I was very nervous about going elsewhere, but as I was not happy with my previous opticians and a very good local one in the town where I lived closed down I decided I would try M&S but not buy from them if I did not like the service I got. I WAS EDGY AND NERVOUS!! I had phoned in to check whether, as and old age pensioner, I would have to pay anything as I got a 50% off voucher sent via email after my wife booked the eye tests. The person who took my phone call was a little hesitant so I proceeded with caution. I NEED NOT HAVE WORRIED! Bethan and Adriana were so patient, polite and helpful with an old dodderer like me! A very rare experience in this day and age. The Optomometrist, Marjan, was very thorough and coped with my constant questions very professionally. After all the tests I needed a coffee and time to think about their recommendations but I was so impressed I went back and placed my order. My wife felt the same way and also bought new glasses, so they got some money from this old skinflint! I eagerly await getting the glasses and hopefully solving probems I have lived with for a few years. If it is possible to add to this review I will as soon as possible. MANY MANY thanks to all at M&S Opticians in Torquay.”

“Good supermarket despite its small size. It sold good products at reasonable prices. I used to shop here when living in Torquay several years ago. It was the first supermarket I visited when moving to Torquay.”
“I shop here all the time, it's very well stocked and staffed. Very friendly atmosphere, great customer service. Difficult to park unfortunately, don't stay long on the road outside, they will give you a ticket. Cheaper than Coop next door and not much difference in quality in my opinion.”
“Good selection of gluten free treats. I avoid the fresh food section. Their fridges are always leaking. Otherwise good for picking up your fave snacks. Lots of sweets if you fancy chocolate or sugary treats.,”
“A great store. Good staff and wide range of produce. The only thing that lets it down is when you go in for a last-minute shop at 1015 and trolleys are stacked everywhere blocking items you need. I normally move them and crack on. But we're not all able to move them and crack on.”

“This review should of gone up months ago. I was suffering from social anxiety and home sickness after moving from Wolverhampton to Torquay long stroy sort, after being told there was nothing wrong with me at the hospital. I made my way back home and thought I lost my keys and. A few members of staff took the time to talk to me a little bit, and made me feel more at ease then the mental health team did made me a lovely coffee and gave me a few biscuits too.
I also just seen a member of staff helping an elderly couple with there shopping. By placing it in the back of the taxi for them as they was getting in. Which is probably the nicest thing I've seen someone do around here yet.
Sometimes a little bit of kindness can go a very long way, and also have a bigger inpatient for others to follow. ?”
“Small branch of this chain food store in this small town centre shopping precinct Union Square. Attached to union Square pay and display mutil storey carpark with lift, so easy to take your shopping to the car.”
