Retail Park“Excellent service from Jenny no pressure but a lot of advice regarding bedframe and mattress
Pleasurable experience .
Didn't realize there was so much difference between mattresses until Jenny advised us and we tried them out.. she was very knowledgeable which helped us out can't wait to receive our new bed and mattress.
Thank you”
“After staying at this hotel for the first time, we were impressed with the location, food and size of room.(room 8)
We had a sea view and a very comfortable large bed. This hotel does not serve breakfast but supplies, muffins, flapjacks and fruit juice which was fine for us.
We ate in the restaurant both evenings and the menu had a lot of choice and was served quickly by friendly staff.
The model village and cliff railway are both worth visiting. Oddicombe beach has a cafe right on the beach. We had a wonderful long weekend and will definately stay again.”

Bridge Retail Park“Went there recently to buy a kitchen knife. Ended up buying £140 pounds worth of bedding, artwork, cushions and ornaments! Also ate in the cafe. All good stuff. But the £100 parking fine received by post this morning was unwelcome - be aware of the 2 hour parking time limit. I totally forgot about it during my spending spree!”
“My daughter and I absolutely love ‘The Grand Hotel’ we have stayed there 3 times in the last 12 months and we are booked to go back again in April. The place just has a fabulous feel, the history and the atmosphere. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The concierge are always very welcoming from the moment we arrive until the sad day for my 6yr old that we have to leave! We can’t wait to come back, again and again and again. We plan on making memories there for years to come.”
“Stayed at TLH last week on a coach holiday. We have stayed at the Derwent several times as independent travellers and once at the Toorak. We were upgraded to the Carlton. The rooms in the Carlton are more spacious, but we were very disappointed with the poor menu choice and service at dinner in the Carlton compared with the Derwent. We expected the Carlton dinners to be superior as they cost more than dinner in the Derwent. We will not be dining in the Carlton again.Food & drinks: very poor menu. No roasts, steak pie or sausages and salad choice very poor in Carlton compared to Derwent.”
“Stayed here for two nights recently. Lovely rooms with everything you could want. Staff friendly and helpful, nice restaurant on site. Bit of a walk to seafront, but bus stops right ”
“Fabulous sea views. The hill to the venue is extreme for walkers and vehicles but pay parking is close by. The serving staff are very attentive and the food very good.”
