Standard HSBC. Clueless staff, frustrating banking. Even if you've remembered your security pin, your security key and your security key id, they'll point you to the phone on the wall and ask you to conduct your business over the phone.

Alex and Abdul solved 2 tricky banking issues with a new and an old account, gliding through the query with ease. I have opened an account as a student and it was done on the very same day. I'm impressed with the service provided. I dint have to wait and it was done without any difficulty. HSBC has closed all its satellite branches in Plymouth, so you have to go all the way into the city centre to pay money in.Totally unacceptable service from a bank that earns millions per year.

I have encountered problems due to the incompetence of staff within the Plymouth Branch and failure of them to contact me. There is no means of contacting the branch directly other than travelling to Plymouth. I ended up spending more than 2 hours with various calls to staff in India and the Philippines, No one was able to sort out the problem. Poor customer service all round and they treat clients with contempt.

I find the opening hours absolutely ridiculous. If you work full time, you are only able to go to the bank on a Saturday? when there are no appointments available.
