We ate here recently and can say we thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic! I recommend having the souffle to start. Next time we are in the area we will be back.

The George and Dragon is a country estate pub with bedrooms in the heart of the Lowther Estate. It was comprehensively restored and refurbished in 2008 by Charles Lowther and his family to become a showcase for classic country cooking using ingredients from the family farms and kitchen gardens at sister establishment Askham Hall just down the road.
Having won multiple awards for it’s cuisine, accommodation and field to fork ethos, it has established itself as a regional dining destination. Friendly approachable staff, a fantastic wine list, real ales, 3 wood fires and and a cosy, stylish atmosphere make it a place you’ll want to come back to time and time again.
