“So on Friday I called in to the Keswick Shop looking for a new outdoor jacket.  I met Andy the sales person who give me a run down of how the Palamo system works.  I don't think I have ever met someone with so much knowledge about the product they are selling it was amazing.  I was in there a hour just chatting with no pressure to buy and left to think about it.  I returned on Saturday and purchased a jacket. We met another sales person (lady with dark hair unfortunately didnt get her name) who advised on size and again couldn't be more helpful.I used the Jacket on Sunday for a short walk up Gowbarrow fell to the summit this didn't really test the jacket but it was comfy and stopped any wind at the summit.  I'm looking forward to trying it in tougher conditions.So thanks Andy, your time and knowledge was greatly appreciated. “I had not long arrived in Keswick when I realized the rubber cap on the metal tip of my trek pole was finished. I went to several outdoor stores, even the brand store I bought it from. To no avail could I find this 'simple' piece. I have MS and really needed my pole to be in tact and not damage the cobble stone pathways, etc. These 2 gentlemen were so helpful & genuine. Now, there were not any left in stock. However, Ian excused himself for a moment while I talked with Riley. Next thing I know, Ian had returned with a replacement cap for my pole. While this may not seem like a big deal to many. Most store clerks would not go the extra mile to check iver stock or even suggest other places. They really are 2 very solid fellas. I have 3 sons and they love to know that sons from other mothers look out for their mum! Thanks so much Ian & Riley! You were my champions today. “Wanted a new pair of walking shoes so went to Cotswold. The assistant first of all measured my feet, length and width . As I've lady feet( bunions etc) I needed a wide fit, we came up with 3 that were comfortable. I wasn't pressured into choosing but after over a hour I decided on one. No pressure sale tactics,No impatient tuts just very good service.”

“I phoned in advance having researched hiking boots to ask if they had any in stock - they not only put them aside but said they would honour the online price.I went and tried the boots on, one chap picked up on the fact that I wasn't quite convinced and a bit unsure. He asked a few questions and suggested I try another boot and gave me the reasons and technical information - I immediately felt the difference in the fit.What he didn't try and do was upsell, the boots were actually slightly cheaper than the ones I researched, same brand, Scarpa, but also probably better for me as they would see me through more seasons.Huge thank you, walking boots are an investment so one you want to get right, can't wait to get out on the fells!”
