“We visited last weekend to entertain wedding guests. The management here are amazing, they go the extra meter to ensure everything is in place as the happy couple planned.Great working with them - just love good organisation. The function room would hold abou 80 guests. It has a low ceiling, and the atmosphere is good.Loading is via a patio, and a trolley is available - just ask.Parking is very good and well managed. My only gripe is the naff road on the west side of Windermere Lake, much prefer the A591.”

“Lovely place for John Lewis Partners. We have stayed in both the hotel and the hostel, hostel superb value for families. We love coming to stay here, plenty to do in the beautiful area.”

“Pretty much everything you could want is provided in this apartment, all of good quality and in good condition. Comfortable beds, modern bathrooms, stunning views from the balcony mean you hardly need the TV! Parking is a bit tight, and only space for one car, but a main car park is available down the hill for £38.50 for the week - and that ticket can be used in other car parks in the area. The pool is lovely - again, stunning views over Ambleside - water warm, pool area clean and well maintained, changing rooms basic but adequate.”

“Nice stay in Grasmere. Really friendly staff, especially on reception, but perhaps in bar/restaurant a bit more training would be beneficial. Food reasonable for a hotel but not for a destination restaurant. Overall would certainly stay again if in Grasmere.”

“Lovely 'superior' room (no.21 at the front of the hotel dorma) with huge bed, two comfy chairs, fully provisioned hot-drinks area, and a full-sized bath. All clean, warm and comfortable.Good little walk along the Cumbrian Way just at the foot of the drive follows the river.Very little noise outside, just the occasional car. No clouds overnight and no light pollution here so the stars were spectacular! One downside is the extractor fan next door (no.20) which set up an annoyingly loud vibration in the dividing wall all night. We both found it difficult to sleep (hence lots of stargazing). This puts me off booking again.Rather than drive into Ambleside (note there are no pavements so it's not a safe walk) we had dinner in their Talbot Bar restaurant, but you have to book as it's busy. Food was very tasty and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed - bar/waiting staff all seemed happy.Breakfast was good - fruit/cereals, toast/jam, plus a cooked breakfast, but as per meal last night the food could have been warmer.”

“This is our second time coming here! We love it, we had the whole tipi site to ourselves! Everything you possibly could need is provided and the tipis are spacious and warm! Especially with the log fire! The camp site is amazing, the showers are hot and there’s even plugs for hair dryers and straighteners. There’s a wood stove pizza place on site for those times you don’t want to cook and the shop has everything you could need! I love it here!”

“We’ve been back here several times and always find very happy peace here. Brilliantly convenient for some gorgeous walks with incredible views. The rooms are always fantastic (great shower pressure if that’s your thing) and the on site restaurant (Stove) and the swimming facilities are very very good. We’ll be back again.”
