“The restaurant itself is really nice visually and in a good location if you are local to the area. But with regards to the food, we visited for a Sunday roast. The portions provided were very small, the meat was so fatty and partially inedible and it had an awful/strange tang to it, we asked for additional gravy and a gravy boat quite literally the size of a shot glass was provided. We were hardly approached by any waiting staff, even though there 3 waiting staff working and only 4 tables occupied within the entire restaurant and bar. We were asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu to which we said yes. 15 minutes later, it was clear there would be no menu given to us. Very disappointing experience, no restaurant staff batted an eyelid or a goodbye as we left the restaurant, but we did manage to get a cheery goodbye from the barman. More so as we received this meal as a gift voucher and we had expected, at the very least hoped for a nice experience. I definitely would have made the effort to argue the cost for what was provided otherwise (gift voucher was £40 for two people and was 1 course and 1 small drink). Sad and disappointing all round.”
