Booked a Wellness Spa Stay for my husband and I for our wedding anniversary.
I booked the garden room as it has access to the gardens and you can sit outside your room and enjoy the view/peace.
I phoned the hotel and booked direct, explaining it was a special occasion and which room i wanted and why.
The receptionist booked everything, we chose the treatments we would like too (50 mins treatment each)
On arrival we were told the was an event on in the garden. We would have no access to the garden. We walked to our room to see people stood outside our door and a member of staff had set up a BBQ on the grass outside our door. We would have to keep the curtains closed as we were ground floor and party guests were looking directly into the room.
No of this was mention when booking.
We were offered another room. They called it an upgrade but it wasn't the room we wanted. There was water damage along the wooden bath panel and the room was incredibly hot. There was already a fan in the room.
The treatments were good however it was not 50mins. I was in the treatment room for 40mins so the actual treatment lasted 30mins.
We went for dinner, ordered starters which took an hour to come out....we ordered olives! A waiteress came and apologised saying there was an error in the kitchen.
The mains arrived not long after and although had a long wait the food was delicious.
The gardens are lovely and I'm sure on a quiet weekend we maybe would have had a different experience.
This overnight stay cost £420 it wasn't worth it. I spoke to the general manager who was only interested in the event.
I spoke to the receptionist on departure and was told the General manager would contact me on Monday.....let's see.

Recently stayed for a spa break for my 30th birthday. The stay was wonderful we stayed in an apartment the photos taken on the website do not do the room justice.
We had hot stone massages which were wonderful and we felt very relaxed.
Food was lovely they had notes of allergies and dietary requirements
Cannot fault anything looking forward to returning. We wish we paid for an early check in and late check out to enjoy it for longer

Attended a beautiful Baby shower here in one of their dinning rooms. Stately room with a very warm service. Reception desk attendant was very nice and welcoming!

Quite a nice country house, missing a good operations manager. The bed was very comfortable, but there were a lot of cables and extension cords all over the floor which made it feel significantly less luxurious.
Breakfast was disappointing, the continental part was meagre and the two days we stayed the juice was not replenished. Scrambled eggs on the full breakfast was inedible, so dry and rubbery.
The night porter was reluctant to open the bar at 11pm for four people, he is quite young and not a barman so it was a little tricky to get a proper drink.

Staff were lovely, but the room was a bit tired, the bed far too soft and bouncy, and the single glazed window rattled. The worst bit was that they started playing loud jazz music outside from 7.30am on a Saturday morning? All rooms on our side of the hotel would have been subjected to this - loud even through closed windows. Why??? Gardens are lovely to look around.

This hotel has so much potential to be a lot better. It is not even trying to reach four stars. After reception, which I truly commend, everything else goes downhill.
Breakfast is a very chaotic affair. You are pointed to a table, and that's it. No breakfast menus were given, or nothing informed. I could easily blame the young staff, but that would be totally unfair. It is whomever their managers or supervisors are. I didn't see any about the breakfast room. These kids are not being taught the true profession. Unforgivable.
We had two rooms booked, both had a patio and some tables chairs. One day, we stayed around the hotel and enjoyed the sun. Or so we thought, until we were approached by some idiot of the management team. This rude person informed us that he had a function on that day and that we must move. He actually told us to go and lie in the grass. This was said to my both parents-in-law. One has Parkinson's Disease, Dementia, heart trouble, and Osteoporosis.
This was all explained to the hotel before we arrived. We actually did move and went into the lounge as we wouldn't be so rude as to spoil someone else's day.
It was just the way we were treated, not even a sorry, an apology, or a thank you.
We had a meal in the restaurant, and we could not believe the miniscule portions for the price charged. We would not use it again.
Also, we were charged £200 for our small dog staying with us. It is my mother in laws life saver and her guardian. Ridiculous. Also they permit anyone to park in the disabled bays and the EV spaces.
It is a nice building set in wonderful surroundings. However, sadly, it needs a good cleaning, painting and decorating. It is like some people. Appearances can be deceiving

We hosted our 50th wedding anniversary here ( 19/07/2025.
It was wonderful. All the staff were very friendly and helpful; they could not do enough. The venue was amazing. The ballroom led onto a conservatory which led onto a patio and garden area. We had a bouncy castle on the grass and the children loved it.
Lunch was served on time and with great efficiency to 56 people none of whom had to wait for long.
All the food was delicious.
The whole event ran like clockwork and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. It exceeded our expectations.
Many of our guests stayed overnight and were impressed by their rooms and breakfast.
A final swim on the morning before we left rounded our event off beautifully.
I cannot thank the staff at the hotel enough.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Absolutely amazing! It was so peaceful and tranquil with gorgeous gardens and immaculate lawns, manicured shrubs, walled garden, rose walks, meadows, and a kitchen garden where they grow their own fruit, veg and herbs for their restaurants. The pool and spa were amazing, the food delicious and staff very friendly. We?ll definitely be back!

I've just had a Spa day with the girls and we had such a lovely time, staff were very friendly and efficient, it was my first time there, so they let me know about all of the facilities. I had a facial and back massage, the music and the room during the massage were really relaxing too. I loved looking round the grounds, the gardens are beautiful. Afternoon tea with procesco on the terrace, in the sunshine too, what a perfect day. I didn't want it to end!
