Poor customer service.
I have bought a device around 2 weeks ago and I was told I can bring it back if for any reason I am not happy with the product.
Apparently you have 48 h if you buy it in the store and 2weeks if bought online.
I did not read the small print.
They spent 20-30 min to check the device struggling to prove it was working which clearly was not straight forward.
It was not connecting to my device and I explain that repeatedly.
An option was given to sell it back to them for a fraction of the price or get some voucher for a little more than half the price.
It is not necessarily the money but attitude and customer care are lacking there.

these stores have the worst service I've ever seen, customer service is pathetic and that's why they don't know anything at all, they ignore customers and make fun of them behind their backs, these stores shouldn't exist or they need to change their whole approach to customers, I don't recommend

Cex is pretty great overall, but in terms of the service you get, I've noticed it's all down to the store you go to. I've been to a couple at least a good 2 to 3 times, if not more.
Some store would take an entire day to test, even if you are there before opening (Slough store) ..always seems to be the case here yet you go to busier places and within an hour for the same thing. Yet if you do bank transfers, after test, the Slough store is damn fast, yet others take a day or two (Uxbridge store).
Many different examples, you just got to pick the right store for its strength and your needs of expectations.

Woman with piercings on her face was extremely rude! She did not allow me to buy a 16 rated game and refused multiple times. I showed proof of id passport and she still declined. I ended up bringing my 18 year old sibling in which she refused to sell to them aswell. Terrible service from her, I was excited to play the games I had intended to buy there but unfortunately her racism got the best of her. I believe we weren't served because of our skin colour. will not be buying from cex again!

Great place for cheap DVDs and cheap games. However, since subscribing to Playstation Plus we've found we don't really need to purchase games from here anymore. Staff always very helpful and knowledgeable. Have never had any problems when having to refund anything. Marking down one star as I don't think electronics are that good value for money, considering they are second hand. They are very honest about the 'we buy for and then sell for' prices but there is a HUGE difference in what CeX buys items for and then sells them on for. We tend to use Facebook Marketplace for second hand electronics. I understand there isn't a guarantee doing it this way but MUCH better deals available
