“So glad I came to Woodlands today. I always like to shop in local businesses and was greeted on my arrival and was very pleased with the excellent selection available at very reasonable prices (including my favourite cider!) Highly recommended for variety and that pleasant personal touch!”

“Desperate for food late in the evening, I (disappointingly) lost the argument about where to go for food. I wanted pizza express, my partner wanted to “save money”… this was one i wasnt going to win so I arrived at Sainsburys with a heavy heart.

It wasnt immediately obvious but as i lugged my heavy legs around the shop it occurred to me, that this may be the perfect Sainsburys Local. Even though the shop was small, by god it was wonderful. They had everything we needed (including the best bag of taste the difference cookies i’ve ever had, and i’ve had a lot. A lot. A lot.)

To send off the trip we were served by Ben. Bens smile radiated welcome and happiness like no staff member i’ve ever met. He made me feel like a forlorn fisherman giving up on life in a terrible storm, then seeing far away on the horizon a lighthouse. Safety. Comfort. Warmth.

“Staff are always polite with every food essentials in. We have Co-ops dotted everywhere - handy to avoid 20 minute journey to a local supermarket just for a loaf or milk that we all tend to run out of periodically.”

“General store serving the local community. Staff are cheerful and competant with good knowledge of the stock. Products from newspapers through a range of household goods and foods are stocked here. Gas and elecric tokens can also be recharged here.”

“The excellent choice of deli style snacks is unsurpassed. The ready to eat Mexican Style Chicken with Soured Cream, Lime & Coriander is exceptional. The choice of wines is also very varied and their New World wine selection is particularly good. The team are always friendly, especially when reaching out to the forecourt to assist via their highly effective Tannoy system. One not to miss!”

“Most of the staff here are absolutely lovely to speak to!! Especially 2 who's names I don't know but one has glasses and loves seeing my dog archie. She has great customer service, Always happy to serve and is a joy to be served by!! Plus to the review by isobel Somerville 1. If the shop worker gets an age 25 wrong it means loss of job or a fine and criminal record!! 2. As a woman I would have thought you would have been over the moon being asked for proof of age!! 3. You obviously have never worked in Retail because if you did (as I did for 23 yrs) you wouldn't be moaning on here!!”

“Regular visitor, shop usually very well stocked, staff usually very friendly. I just wish that Deliveroo would deliver to the Racecourse Development as this would help not only me but many others. On mentioning this to the staff they shrugged and agreed with me especially as many hospital workers live close by.”

“This is my sending favourite branch after their larger sister branch at Northbrook Street. Purely as I have frequented it more and have got to know some of the staff.The staff at this M&S outlet is equally as polite and cheerful. Quite easy to hit the £200 mark without purchasing a full trolly (and without purchase of alcohol). I shall try Lidl opposite next time to compare.”

“Overall good experience in Tesco Express. Adequate products and stock most of the times. In center of town center and serve the purpose, there is plenty of self check-out options, there is bakery as well for fresh baked breads and pastries. Also there are other services like Hermes ParcelShop, MoneyGram, Payzone bill payments available in Tesco Express.”
