Stayed here for one night on the way back from Cornwall to break the journey. Had to park a short walk away as the carpark was full but this was not a problem. Nice comfortable bed . The star of the show was definitely the food. Great value and of high quality....and the beer was great too... service was spot on what more could you ask for but to crown it all the breakfast was amazing.... would not hesitate in coming back for a longer stay as the area has lots of interest as well

Just had possibly our worst experience of a visit to a Hotel, The White Lion at Upton on Severn. We booked the hotel several months ago as we were visiting the wonderful Welland Steam fair, it was superb! Imagine our disappointment when arriving at the White Lion Hotel at 15:30 (early) to be told there was no parking available. The car park appeared to have several trade vehicles, Vans and Pick Ups and space had also been taken by a covered Marquee. We had telephoned this hotel previously to enquire about parking and we were told there would be parking available at the Hotel. When we arrived we were told, tough and to park in the back streets of Upton! It had been a long day at the Steam Fair but this unhelpful attitude of the receptionist telegraphed to us that we were not welcome. We cancelled on the spot and travelled home. We?re were told we would be charged which we accepted although we felt the hotel did not live up to its promise on hotel parking. Flagrant abuse of the Trades Description Act! We could not recommend the White Lion hotel to any traveller with a vehicle given our treatment.

Three of us have had a Sunday roast here, in White Lion.
The service was really good, thanks to Kim, who looked after us so well. She was pleasant, friendly and very patient.
The food quality and pricing was really nice.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.
Will definitely coming back.

A basic place with low quality food & drink, but it's set in a good location in the heart of a charming riverside town.
Nearby activities: Good views of the River Severn
Safety: It's a pretty quiet town and feels safe.
Walkability: It's in the heart of town so there are shops, pubs, cafés and takeaways within easy walking distance.
Food and drinks: Basic in quality.

Sept 2024 high standards though out all staff very polite and helpful. Food excellent value. Rooms to the highest standards. Drinks greatly enjoyed. We're made very welcome nothing to many for any staff members always treated with respect. Would definitely stay again 100% loved our stay We can't wait for next Folk festival amazing place lovely people always made very welcome service with a smile.

Our room was out the back of the hotel , modern rustic feel with all amenities, the one down side was the WiFi didn't work as we were to far away . Comfortable room though with a lovely shower and bath. .

Only used room as visiting family nearby. Bar seem popular and told food was good. Room a little dated and walls paper thin - could hear every word next door let said. Bit off putting

Thankyou to Michelle and her team for arranging our wedding reception. Sit down 2 course for 30 guests it was perfect. The tables were all decorated for us too. Lovely service beautiful setting.

With veg potatoes,yorkshire puds.
Desert was apple pie or chocolate fudge cake. We wanted only 2 choices of each.
Michelle said it was our wedding so we should have what we want....and we did.

Lovely wines and food was exceptional. We had prawns, marie sauce on chiapa. Came with salad, French dressing and chips. Yum yum.
