We called in last night after leaving The Game fair, we were a group of 8 but the staff managed to accommodate us at short notice. The food and the staff were lovely. particular faves were the lamb curry, the tagine and fish and chips.

Stoppedby for food on Friday night. I had the loaded fries and Greek salad. Very disappointing. The fries were tasteless and clearly cheap frozen chips I couldn't even eat them. The Greek salad didn't even contain all the ingredients that it s on the menu-no tomatoes and just a lot of lettuce.
Would not return and don't recommend

Visited today (June 22nd 2025) of a random drive, I had a beautiful rib eye steak cooked to perfection my partner had a burger with brisket in it which melted in her mouth. For dessert she had baked alaska and I had the cherry bakewell which was devine(the chef needs a kiss and a hug it was that good) the young man who served us(I'm sorry I didn't catch your name) was friendly and polite and had tons of knowledge. He went above and beyond to make sure are experience was amazing and he delivered. Me and my partner have worked years in the industry and both said we've never seen a waiter who so good at his job(personally Id put him forward for a landlord licence) we will 100% be back

Disappointing food and service tonight.
We complained about one main course but staff didn?t seem to care.
One of the specials Chicken tacos were very over priced for the portion size.
The curry had no flavour and the additional charge for lamb (4 small cubes) seemed excessive. The lemon desserts were not as described (still trying to work out where the shortbread was, maybe in the kitchen)
The weirdest part was when we eventually managed to get a staff member to bring the bill!! We waited and waited to pay, eventually i headed to the bar where I was told I should have known that they don?t take payment at the table !!!

Absolutely fantastic gem of a place. Warm service, hearty wholesome comfort food with a wide variety of choices. Plenty of parking and one of the few establishments open for business midweek which is unusual for this area it seems ?!

Lovely country pub that was very accommodating. Compliments to the chef, food was outstanding, Barman couldn?t do enough for us. Lovely experience. The management clearly know what they?re doing.
