Under new management & the new managers are absolutely lovely. Canal side pub that's had some misfortune since covid & the new managers are working really hard to turn things around. Lots of homemade options on the menu, as well as vegetarian options. We were there mid-week & service was at a boaters pace but to be fair, it's just the 2 of them covering kitchen, service & bar during the week so be patient, it's worth it & they're so friendly/lovely.
I had the steak & ale pie, topped with shortcrust pastry which I can be a bit picky about but it was delicious, massive portion of fries on the side too then for dessert I had homemade sticky toffee pudding. My dad had the sticky ribs, which he devoured, followed by lemon drizzle cake, both of which he said were really tasty.
Dogs allowed in the bar area, lovely outdoor seating area & plenty of parking too. Great for boaters, campervanners, walkers & cyclists!
No pics of the food as I'd eaten it before I remembered I wanted to do a review ha!

Great pub to stop at whilst cruising the canal, or just passing by. Mooring for canal boats and a large outdoor area to view them as well. Great location for food and good beer. Staff very friendly, attentive and helpful.
Parking: Free mooring for canal boats.

Ale and steak pie. How can you make a pie full of gravy very little meat but grisly. No idea who cooked it but I left 3/4 of it. I have never been served anything this bad before.

New owners looked after us on a canal walk today. Busy opening up at midday but brilliant when all 15 of us arrived at 1205! Thanks guys and good luck with your new pub ????

New owners so no food yet. Great couple running this place. We stayed overnight in motorhome and as no food the lads went and picked up food for us.
We will be back.

Thank you Andrew & Kevin, you made us feel really welcome. Although there wasn?t any food available on the day we visited, you were really hospitable and the local ale was great. Good luck with the pub as we know you have just opened.

Main meals bad. Chips unedible. Pie crusts uncooked. Pie filling unedible. Only one out of eight of us enjoyed their meal.
Starters ok.
Nice landlady but only offered £5 off the £180 bill when three meals not eaten.

We were a group of 8, one dinner was eaten the others left their chips and 3 meals were ineadable. When we asked for money off for the inedible meal, the lady serving us showed her true face and gave us £5 off an almost £200 dinner despite 3 of our party having not eaten a thing. The lady seemed nice during the whole experience until that point and then tried to blame us for their poor food showing her true colours. ONLY GO HERE FOR DRINKS, nothing else

Very pleasant pub, excellent food and beer. A few meters from the canal, which we greatly appreciated. Psychos welcome.
