Morning of 16th August, First time we tried breakfast here, We asked the pleasant waitress, for crispy bacon on the sandwich and that was ignored, and the sausage didn't taste right.
The full English was okay but the fried egg was snotty.
Whist eating, inside the cafe , a maintenance worker decided to start hammer drilling, This wasn't the best morning for breakfast at all and we won't be returning soon.

Amazing country cafe, nice food made right in front of you
Extremely pleasant experience - for boaters: handy moorings round the corner

We are regular visitors here both during the week and at weekends. We have been made most welcome and yet to arrive during a quiet period. We are not young enough to default to photographing food but we must, if only to show that we are not technophobes!
I see that Adam A thought that the owners harboured prejudice towards them, as a mixed race couple, this is not our experience. They and their staff have been nothing but welcoming, even on a busy day. The food is great as always and the cakes do their utmost to entice you to eat more or to take a slice or two home!

Firstly, having read a few reviews on here, can I say this: I have been in the cafe when groups or individual cyclists enter; and as a cyclist myself, I also drive; the owner(s) share my own attitude towards the cycling fraternity.....MANY, not all, can be a nuisance. It just annoys me that when a motorist, impatient motorist, tried to get past me in July 2021, not 1.0 kms up the road from this cafe - where the road is not wide enough for a car to safely pass - sideswiped me causing me to fall into the road. The result was a two month hospital stay, of which 20 days were spent in a Coma. Just a few months later, the Highway Code was updated to as it is today....to late in my case!!!
But back to the cycling fraternity - it frustrates me as a driver when I get held up behind a strung out line of cyclists, seemingly oblivious or simply uncaring of a car or cars behind them. Cycle closer together as a short bunch is a shorter obstacle for a car to get around
Enough of cyclists.
I also read that individuals consider the owners 'racist'; pretty typical attitude of someone who is 'not white' calling out the racist label. The owners are entirely NOT racist, and yes they do have to ask if a table had been booked because they have to give/keep priority for people that have booked a table. And no it isn't a Michelin Star establishment.....I have been in there when people have been turned away or asked to sit outside.
Get over yourselves, and enjoy this place and surroundings, and above all - the cooking and pretty amazing cakes, and you must give their scones a try.....truly gorgeous.

Very disappointed. Cycled 4 miles to get there looking forward to some tea and cake on fathers day only to get there and its closed, even though the website saying it's open.

Not very friendly, travelled there from just outside droitwich. Once there the waitress was going to seat us, but I believe the manager or owner asked us if we had a booking which was strange as they werent even half full and it was after 10am.
From looking at other reviews it seems people don't need to book as it's a cafe not a Michelin restaurant, why would you need to book or reserve a table? Only conclusion i can make is maybe there racist or don't want non whites there?

Terrible attitude from the older gentleman, clearly hates anyone who cycles to the cafe. We visited as a large group (to an almost empty cafe may I add) and certainly won't be returning to this cafe with such a poor attitude towards certain people.
If you are cycling and looking for a coffee stop, give this place a miss.

Not that cyclist friendly, told us it?s illegal to be in big groups , hold traffic up usual claptrap ? we didn?t come for the owners opinion on our mode of transportation. Sounds a bit like another comment where a waitress was heard saying that it?s not child friendly as it will cause customers issues? looks like they want the ideal customer.. I won?t be returning .. for your information for 20 mins of your time , we all spent over £10 each and so that?s £160 for our group ? looks like we?ll take our money elsewhere. I wouldn?t care but the place was dead until we turned up.
The waitress that served us was welcoming and friendly and food was ok we will ensure other local cycling clubs avoid . I?ve made a recommendation that this establishment is perfect for a lone person hoping for some food.
