We happened on a day when the kitchen was being refurbished so a minimal menu of meals in a basket. We had two sausages and cheesy chips and were delighted. The food was piping hot, very tasty and genuinely very enjoyable. The staff were friendly, nothing to much trouble and the chef came out to check we'd been happy. Obviously I can't give a verdict on their full menu, but I understand it will be up and running in the next few days, based on our experience I would expect that it will be extremely good.

Went for a Sunday carvery, thought the definition of a carvery was for a chef to carve your meat and then you put on what vegetables you want and as much as you want not for a member of staff to put the vegetables on for you, so portions are smaller,And if you wanted only 1 or 2 veg they didn?t increase the amount. It definitely is not a self service carvery, which was expected.

We ordered two Hunters Chicken as there was no Gammon or Steak. It was one of the worst meals we have ever had. The service and the atmosphere in the pub was good but the food was really disappointing and a waste of 21 pounds.

I had a problem with the Food Hydeine at my hotel close by. I walked here and found the welcome very friendly. I hade the Classic hunters chicken, which was excellent and Great Value for money. Would recommend the Bay Horse to everyone.

We are in the area for the night and thought we?d pop in to a local pub for a bite to eat. So glad the Bay Horse was on our doorstep. We were received with a friendly smile (I think we were served by the landlady) and she was happy to recommend the best sellers from the menu. Glad she did as the food was great value and very tasty (we had the burgers). Great pints too! Thank you for your warm welcome.

First time in the area and first time coming to this marstons pub. Straight away from walking in it was extremely welcoming and a very fun and entertaining atmosphere for all ages and Food was fantastic, will definitely be coming here again in
