My fiancé and I booked a spa afternoon on a spontaneous trip (same day booking) and the spa manager Lauren went out of her way to book us in. From the moment she took the call, she was impeccably polite and welcoming and this was echoed further by Beth who took over on our arrival. We had just got engaged 24 hours prior and Lauren and the team went out of their way to make us feel welcome and celebrated. I have to say, with such short notice we have been so well received and looked after. Robes and towels were provided. Given that our trip was so impromptu we had forgotten slippers but Beth provided these at no additional cost or inconvenience. We had the illuminating facial treatment with Ellie who was great. The treatment has been great! My skin and my partners has been glowing and extremely hydrating.\\n\\nWe stayed to use the hotel?s facilities, fully equipped with a jacuzzi, pool \\u0026 sauna. Facilities are clean and updated and we are looking forward to returning. Whether you are looking to staying as a guest or just as a spa user. I would highly recommend.\\n\\nThe team are extremely professional and have great manners and a welcoming nature. Nothing was too much trouble. I take this opportunity to thank the ladies at The Abbey Hotel Spa. We had a wonderful afternoon. Thank you for making it special. See you soon

Spa day with afternoon tea, overall very good although they used to offer access to a coffee machine, this is no longer available. Also the normal place to eat for spa days was closed for a function meaning we had to walk through the hotel in our dressing gowns and flip flops and eat in the main restaurant....this felt very uncomfortable. Treatment was lovely and food was nice.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay at the hotel, the staff were very friendly, the food was excellent and our room was spacious and very clean. We brought our dog with us at a cost of £15 per night, however despite the hotel claiming to be pet friendly there was no sign of it in our room, not even a water bowl. We suggested that they may wish to review this in the future. We stay at dog friendly hotels regularly and we always have some kind of welcome packs in the room eg, treats, poo bags, even a ball sometimes. The minimum we'd expect is a water bowl - luckily we always take our own. One other suggestion is that a few poo bins could be placed around the grounds which is essential if you take your dog. Other than that we enjoyed staying at the hotel.

Only a two storey hotel therefore quite a bit of walking involved.\\nStayed for one night, the room was good, excellent shower, the TV screen was small, difficult to see it from the bed.\\nEvening meal in their restaurant started well with an excellent and jovial welcome from the two girls, but after this......\\nTook my order, although there was no prompting as to sauces with the steak. Perhaps my fault, but I'm used to people just reminding the customer as to possible accompaniments for their meal. I thought I had ordered bread nibble to start but nothing arrived before the starter, and when I questioned the waitress, she said that nothing had been passed through to the kitchen. She didn't offer mustard etc to go with the steak, and there was no salt on the table. By the time I was able to attract somebodies attention I had almost finished. 8 oz sirloin steak which had been flattened to about 10mm thick. The stater, salt and pepper squid was 5 pieces of coated 'squid', which I'm guessing was frozen.\\nWhen I was eventually approached, and asked about my meal I let them know. In fairness my glass of wine was deducted from my bill, which was a gesture I had not been expecting, and this made up for the other shortcomings. I added a tip in recognition of this.\\nBreakfast, basically a one-man show, apart from kitchen staff I guess, and even coming in 5 minutes after service opened the fried eggs were small and congealed. Always amazes me that hotels put cold plates out to receive hot food, which then doesn't stay warm for long. Had to ask for tea spoons, and butter too cold to spread.\\n\\nOn a final note, not happy to see dogs in the bar, nor fire doors in the corridors locked 'open', I guess to facilitate cleaning trolleys, although bearing in mind that this was 7.05 am.

Michael and I would like to say how lovely our spa day treat was last Friday. We had a very enjoyable time experiencing the different activities there was to choose from including sauna, swimming pool, whirlpool , then having our relaxing massages and then to top it off afternoon tea!
Heartfelt thanks to all the lovely staff throughout and reception who couldn?t have been more helpful and informative.
We will definitely be returning for more days like this in the near future.

Hotel looked like it needed a revamp, everything old and worn.\\nLift out of order for whole 3 days we stayed.\\nNo air conditioning, one of the handles on the window was broken so only able to open one and the room was very hot.\\nShower in the Superior room was very small, a larger person wouldn?t fit in it.\\nVery young staff who clearly lacked training.\\nBar ran out of some drinks plus very expensive.\\nOn our last morning they apparently had gas problems in the kitchen so no hot food. They didn?t even provide any croissants, could only offer apricot jam and no coffee. No sign of any Management, the young staff were left to deal with very upset customers. No offer of automatic refund for the non existent breakfast.\\nFelt like this hotel is run on a shoe string budget which is such a shame as great location and layout.

Poor facilities, lots of things missing or nor working throughout the hotel. Breakfast was awful, cheap ingredients. No fresh juice, cooffee was undrinkable. Generally a very low rent hotel. Don't be fooled by the website.\\n\\nStaff are young or generally inadequate. Various requests or complaints were never followed up or fixed.\\n\\nVery limited times for kids allowed in pool which is ridiculous. Swim lessons even ate into those times.\\n\\nOur room had no working Extractor fan so the room was constantly hot , stuffy and uncomfortable. The room windows backed onto the carpark so so opening them meant direct fumes. You could pretty much touch the back of car from the window.\\n\\nNo safety latch on window's so being ground floor meant we had to fully close the windows at night for safety reasons. Again this made it very uncomfortable at night.\\n\\nNo slip mat in Bath with 2 young kids this poses a danger. Having repeatedly requesting one we never received one.\\n\\nThe toilet cistern was broken so there was a constant flow of dripping water. Again this was reported but not fixed.\\n\\nI could go on but hopefully you get the picture. Please do not stay at this hotel. There are better ones out there.

Email noted there would be a mini freezer but there was none in room. Informed not all rooms have them. I should have been told of this upfront. Room was nice. Bed was fairly comfortable. Breakfast was fine apart from sausages which were poor.

Very disappointing wedding venue, series of blunders & lack of staff?. Felt really sorry for the bride & groom who made the best of it

Lovely clean ground floor and spacious family room with modern bathroom and nice toiletries. Easy check in and out with friendly helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast ...though glad went early as queue was long later and some people in our group waited far too long. But overall would recommend the hotel, especially if like us, were attending a wedding at Bordesley Park which is minutes away in the car.

Hotel is in need of updating. Our first room damp smelly.. we moved rooms. Black mould throughout shower area and generally dirty. Very noisy at night. NO SLEEP. corridor creaky. Doors banging. Drunks. Then mowers wake you up.......MY ADVICE STAY ELSEWHERE.......

A few issues with a room service breakfast delay and my bill on checkout was incorrect which took a few minutes to resolve and delayed me further. I also noted that there were still children in the pool after 6pm when it was supposed to be adult only time so I didn't bother to swim. I've stayed before. Will probably stay again. Hopefully with a better all round experience.

Tidy rooms and clean hotel. Gym is very well equipped with nice equipment. Bar is good and well managed. Breakfast is OK (was all luke warm one day). Restaurant let's it down and does not represent good value for money for evening meals.
