Lovely tearoom/cafe. Food excellent. Staff always pleasant. Interior needs sorting but plenty of tables and outdoor space.

I've been in two minds whether to write this review as I can tell Sugar n Spice is loved by many, but in the spirit of constructive feedback I feel the chef will benefit. I was craving a cooked breakfast so me and my partner went to sugar n spice. At £11.50 for a full English I thought it was going to be something special. Oh how I was disappointed. Firstly the plate was sparse, with a tiny ramekin of beans and 1 cheap egg. The 2 rashers of bacon were cooked to within an inch of their life and were just about edible. The sausages were cheap and again, overcooked but edible. The mushroom was uncooked in the middle and so were the fried potatoes - my poor partner had to watch me spit them out in to a napkin while she was eating because I couldn't stomach it. The best bit about the meal was the toast...
I usually wouldn't complain and didn't do so to avoid paying. But, I thought it was the right thing to do because if it was my business producing that standard of food, I would want to know.
The member of staff serving me apologised and reassured me that their chef is an expert... Maybe they were having an off day, who knows? She, very kindly, only charged me for the coffee which I was grateful for.
I'm all for supporting local businesses but at £11.50 I expect decent ingredients, a reasonable portion and for it to be cooked properly. Unfortunately I won't be going back in a hurry.
Photo for context.

Been a few times here..
First time on a Saturday.
The worst breakfast I ever had.
Plate was swimming in fat and grease.
Sausages under cooked.
Once made my complaint the breakfast was taken off the bill. So great customer service
