Spent a night at the Malvern Spa Hotel with the family on Sunday and we ate dinner in the restaurant. Ordered the Barnsley lamb chop at the fairly eye-watering price of £28 per person.
The lamb chop had 5 mouthfuls of meat, 65% of it was bone, gristle, and fat. It was drenched in oil.
It came with about 20 roasted baby new potatoes (more were added to replace the radish as they had run out of radish), each one as dry as a bone, and a few morsels of broccoli and baby gem lettuce, that was it.
Absolutely awful value for money, a real disappointment and marred what was otherwise a nice experience.
Breakfast however was good.

a nice place for food. some food was expensive for what it was, but some was really better value. you'd be looking at £40 minimum per person (with soft drinks).
the pork cheek is well worth it. but there special was a let down. the chocolate pud was lovely but the menu said it contained white chocolate but I'm unsure where.

Honestly such a lovely and accommodating place, they went out of their way to accommodate for our allergies and preferences. I can?t recommend the antipasti shared starter enough! And the service was incredible - Ollie was so attentive and welcoming. Will definitely be returning and recommending to friends!

I went to The Grovewood Bar and Restaurant yesterday for dinner and had an awful experience. Firstly, service was extremely slow and had to wait over half an hour to be served, let alone how long it took to receive our two very simple drinks. Secondly, I ordered a chicken caesar salad with no anchovies and after waiting a long time it arrived with anchovies. I gently complained and asked for another to be made with no anchovies and soon arrived a second salad, this time with no anchovies but also no chicken!!!!! How hard is it to make a chicken caesar salad correctly, especially for £19.50!!! I declined the salad as my mum had finished eating her meal at this point, and it was taken off the bill. I decided to order a dessert apprehensively after this poor experience because I was still hungry after having only a side of garlic bread for dinner. I ordered a sticky toffee pudding and after 40 minutes it had still not arrived. I queried how long it would be with one of the waitresses and she said she would find out. She soon came back stating that the ticket for the order must of got lost as there was no record of a sticky toffee pudding order and she said that the chef has now gone home. I was absolutely mortified and disappointed with the service and my experience here. The staff mentioned that another chef was around and would make the sticky toffee pudding right away. Around 5 minutes later it arrived, I must say the pudding was delicious and one of the best sticky toffee puddings I have ever tasted. Hence, why I have given the food 2 stars as a compromise. I am very disappointed with the poor service and professionalism at The Grovewood Bar and Restaurant and will absolutely not be returning.

Wow what an amazing place ! From the moment we walked through the doors we were treated exceptionally. All of the staff we encountered were so helpful and polite and a special thank you to Ollie who helped make the experience special full of laughter and fun.
The food was delicious and can highly recommend the mojitos ! The spa itself although compact was extremely relaxing, clean and the pool was lovely and warm.
Our room was clean, spacious and the bed was so comfortable.
I would highly recommend this place and we will certainly be returning as it?s the staff that make this place such a wonderful destination.

Both me and my mother came away from this spa very unwell with food poisoning. Don?t recommend at all, when contacted they refused to take any responsibility and only offered generic response.

I had been looking forward to staying here for ages. What a disappointment. First of all we went to our room to find it hadn?t been cleaned from the last person. Got given two free drinks as an apology. Got offered a room with no air-con or a room for disabled access with shower room or wait 20 mins for our original room to be cleaned. Took the second option as my husband wanted air-con and we didn?t want to waste time. Chair in room was ripped. Toilet made a horrible noise every time you flushed it. Tiles missing in the pool. Staff were nice and so was my massage. Food was ok. Definitely not worth the £36 for the steak I had. Would say it was just average. Breakfast was nice. For the price of an overnight stay here I expected more.

We stayed 1 night at the hotel. The dinner was excellent. We ordered the steak grills, and they were delicious and cooked to near perfection. The staff are very friendly and helpful and better than expected given the strange reviews on them being slow. We ordered the Italian bottle of red, which went down well with the steaks. They had sea bass on the menu, but it's essentially Asian style stir fry with sea bass, so it was a bit confusing. I guess when you are in the Malvern area, you should really order steak or any red meat given the quality. The only strange thing of the restaurant is that people just come out from the spa and dine with their spa robes and wet shorts. We obviously got dressed up but didn't know about it. It's not a big deal, but just a bit weird. The decor of the restaurants needs a bit redoing but not for me to judge.Overall, I highly recommend the restaurant for the food :)

The service is very slow. Been twice and waited for drinks both times. A couple had waited before us and thet had forgotten1st visit git asked 3 times what drink i wanted while I stood at the bat for 20 mins noone else waiting. Noone knew what they were doing and all 3 staff were under 20 just no management at all. Then suddenly one lovely guy told us to sit down and took our order again and made such a great impact I let the negative sly. We had sourdough with this mixed salad as a light bite and was beautiful. Our service witl him was great! Professional! He even re wiped our knife and forks.2nd visit I sat in the restaurant where a waitress came over spoke Extremely loud while taking ny order which was quite embarrassing when you ask questions about different foods. People did stare. I ordered a coffee and soft drink and it took so long I went to the bar myself where it was just sat om a try. I said I will take it and our waitress got very blunt saying no I'm back now I will bring it. STILL waited another 5 mins and when it did arrive my coffee was so full it Spilt all down the cup and saucer. The coffee had be left waiting that long the Spilt coffee was dry all around the cup. Extremely messy. When I asked to have my coffee emptied to make room for me they still brought me back my dirty cup and luke warm coffee with stained coffee all around the rim too. She then acted very confused on what level to leave the coffee for milk.I had sweet chilli mayo crayfish wrap. It had no taste at all. I ate it as it was healthy but it was just like eating plain paper - fish was OK but not worth the money. Both times it was quiet. I feel they need to put more experienced in fine dining service as this is an expensive place and beautiful surroundings paying 87.50 a mth. Then paying extra for food and drinks. They needs more of a professional approach

Welcomed with a smile. All good. Spa ok views not the best-overlooking the grotty building walls of the premier inn. Massage ok. Girlfriends was with a Ukrainian that could not speak English so no communication on massage requirements there??? Room not cleaned still had the previous persons what looked like a dropped croissant crumbs on floor, bed not properly made. Had the cheek to charge £8 service charge. The drinks WELL?. If you?ve been here you?ll know the cocktails are AWFUL, and I mean awful, they?re not cocktails. Dinner weren't the best either tbh. Over priced. Overall not the best. Most of the staff smiley . Breakfast ok had the full English but again it was ok. But for nearly £500 for the day/night there?s much better spas to visit. Wish I?d took all the photos now to show but was trying my best to just see the good things than the bad. But do think about my comments as they?re genuine and from a couple than go many places in the uk and abroad. Oh the spa towels we were given, one had a big hole the other brown stains?. I mean cmon get the simple things right please. So for me I?ll never return.Parking: Parking was fine right outside the spa.
