Terrible Experience.??
No issues with customer service and I find most staff to be lovely and helpful.
However when purchasing 3 MALE rats, somehow they made a mistake and have given me at least one female, I didn't know untill she ended up having 10 kits and due to the stress of having to move cages (as the staff said I'd be better off keeping the mom and babies and I'd have to separate them for 6 weeks) she ran away.
Subsequently this resulted in 7 out of the 10 babies passing away even though we tried our best for them. It was a horrible experience and I had to hand over the other 3 in store as I couldn't take the loss anymore.
The staff were as helpful as they could be but didn't seem to know much more than I did, they also provided essentials to house her however now those items are just taking up space as I have no use for them. They haven't offered me any compensation or goodwill gestures to make up for the horrible situation they put me in. This mistake shouldn't have happened at a reputable pet store and has resulted in animal deaths and a huge amount of stress on me and my family.
To top it all off they advised me I might not be able to get a refund on the mother rat if I bring her in as she was born from an adoption rat in their care so it's classed as a donation! I think that is ridiculous considering they made the mistake and I can't keep her due to having boys only. I'm out of time, money and emotional labour, and it feels like they don't really care and are just making excuses instead of making it right.
I have no doubt they will also sell the babies and mother again, which is also extremely unfair especially if I can't get a refund on what is essentially an incorrectly labeled animal.
To conclude: DO NOT BUY LIVE ANIMALS HERE! IF THEY CAN MAKE THIS MISTAKE ON SOMETHING AS SIMPLE AS GENDERING I DON'T TRUST THE STAFF OR STORE/COMPANY TO SELL LIVE ANIMALS! GO ELSEWHERE??

We did click and collect .for a cage when we got there a assistant went out the back to fetch it .when she came back it was not in a box I did say where the box for it but she was very rude never answered me and just walked away .we had to take it like that because we needed it that night . So I won't be buying from your shop again .

They don't stock their own brand ( AVA) boxer dry food. Took 3 months for one of the staff to find out and tell me. Disappointing.
