It doesn?t matter If you are a ?The Archers? fan or not, this lovely pub has the best homemade food we?ve experienced in a long time, plus they can cater for GF and other allergies too. (Battered cod is made with GF flour & cider - recommended by my mint GF husband as absolutely delicious!) reasonably priced for the portion sizes too.
Large outdoor area, intimate areas inside, with Archers memorabilia, in a Tudor pub. Do not confuse it with the Bull?s Head 25m away, or you?d be missing a treat.

I don't like to leave bad reviews but we went with some work colleagues from Canada to show them a traditional English pub. The lady behind the bar was friendly and helpful. We ordered food, which was ok. Unfortunately, 2 of us ended up spending a long time in the bathroom that evening/night being quite unwell! Have to say it may not have been what we had to eat that evening but I'll let you decide.

Very badly run, only one member of staff on , very slow service , a few of us had fish and scampi none of us got the sauce with and nobody around to ask, scampi OK but the fish is all greasy batter, desserts took 45 mins to come and then to top it off no 10% discount as advertised on board on road, and woman knew what she doing when giving the bill, but couldn't be bothered to argue, one place to knock off list to go for food

Fabulous meal last night thankyou, Rob and the staff are so welcoming, we were very well looked after, the food was great, the staff were all very attentive, we'll be back soon and would highly recommend a visit to this lovely pub.

We all met up for my dad?s birthday here and I mentioned in passing to Michelle when booking that it was his birthday. Michelle looked after us wonderfully, dad had balloons and a cake with a firework. Michelle really made our visit special and the pub has now become a regular for dad and I to visit. Good beers on tap, food great, especially the fish and chips. The pub itself is beautiful. Highly recommend a visit.
