I rarely write reviews, but after two great visits to the Jockey this week?one for drinks and takeaway fish and chips, another for breakfast?I wanted to share my experience. The food was tasty, the service (especially from Lilly) was excellent, and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming - thank you.

10 of us ate here for Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday. The food was very very good, the service was on the slower side but we didn?t mind. However, at 18:05 (5 minutes after closing, bill already paid, with only 2 half full glasses on our table, the rest empty) we were asked ?any chance my staff could go home?. It sadly came across very rude and left feeling like our near £300 bill would have been much more appreciated somewhere else.

Food very good but service needs to be addressed. No communication on arrival regarding busy kitchen, 20 minutes to wait for a drink until I got up and went to ask, service very slow and missing out on extra sales for drinks and sides. It felt that the large party sitting by us was more important!! In my eyes every customer is important especially in this current climate! I asked a member of staff If she was the manager and reply was 'one of' Really? Not a 'yes I am and can I help you' Won't be going back which is shame as very local

Wonderful visit to The Jockey Inn, the food and service was outstanding.
The best Sunday lunch we?ve had in a very long time - tender beef, crispy roasties and the cauliflower cheese bake was just delicious.
We?ve already planned our return visit!

I took my Mum here for Saturday lunch. It was a bit quiet, but the team (especially Emma) made us (and our dog) very welcome. Lovely pint, super fish and chips all served witha a smile. We will definitely return.

Visited as needed lunch when travelling down the m5. Lovely gastro pub, great food and a fire. Atmosphere was slightly lacking but that's only because it wasn't busy when we visited. Service was good. We would definitely come back if in the area.

After being taken over the place has improved tremendously, fantastic staff great new owners, and nice to have a village pub back.

First time visiting a couple of weeks ago, and we had a lovely Sunday lunch. We did have quite a delay between our starters and main courses BUT, even though we didn't complain, the staff couldn't have been more apologetic about the delay. They kindly gave us a deduction on our bill for the inconvenience too. Lovely atmosphere, nicely done out. Plenty of parking (extra spaces just across the road), and friendly staff. We'll definitely be returning with family.

We spent Christmas Day lunch with our family and our dog, and it was absolutely fantastic! From the start, the staff were incredible?so helpful and attentive. The roaring fire and cozy atmosphere created everything you could dream of for a perfect Christmas. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and beyond satisfying. We would 100% recommend this experience and are already looking forward to coming back for Christmas dinner in 2025!

Superb Sunday dinner - beef was excellent. Tiny curiosity was that the prawn cocktail was served in a high cocktail glass on a slate plate. Slid around all over the place.
