The food was amazing, reasonably priced. We went for a carvery on Sunday at about 4.30pm. We hadn't booked so couldn't eat in the restaurant but we're allowed to eat in the bar area which was lovely. We're not really big eaters, so the fact that they do a small plate carvery was absolutely effect for us. We'll definitely be back, & not in the too distant future. Yummy in my tummy ???

My husband and I had dinner at The Nailers on 26th August. Within about 30 minutes of returning home I began to feel very unwell and proceeded to vomit on and off all night. I am still not recovered after a couple of days and unable to eat properly. It was clear to me that it was something I'd eaten. I'd even commented on the battered prawns not seeming to be very crispy when at the restaurant. My husband and I ate the same lunch but we had different dinners at The Nailers. I was concerned and wanted to give them a heads up that their food preparation/hygiene was obviously not up to scratch and I had no intention of writing this post.... had I been treated respectfully that would have stayed the case. The current manager called me after my initial contact and was immediately defensive instead of apologising and saying they would look into it. He condescendingly started explaining about how the prawns were cooked and constantly talked over me all the while calling me darling and my lovely! When I asked him to please not do that I put the phone down on him when he didn't! I'm sure he would not have spoken to a man in such a patronising and condescending manner! I hoped he would call back to apologise but of course that didn't happen! That such an important issue wasnt taken seriously made me check their current food hygiene rating and I was shocked to find it's only 3/5 'generally good' I would never eat at any restaurant that was only 'generally good'! Had I known it had taken such a downturn from when run by Phil and Shula who had a 5/5 rating I would never have gone. I won't be eating here again and strongly suggest you don't either!

Always a friendly welcome from the staff.
Meals are always brought out hot. It's always a great place to relax with family and friends.

We had a most enjoyable Sunday lunch at the Nailers .. very pleasant atmosphere with good food at a very reasonable cost .. our table was served by Chelsea who was a lot more then just a waitress, Chelsea was pleasant, helpful, and very courteous.. Altogether a really enjoyable afternoon.. Many thanks to you and your excellent staff..

Extremely Disappointed ? Won?t Be Returning
We visited this restaurant recently and were absolutely disgusted by the quality of the food. Everything tasted and looked like it had been sitting out for days ? completely unappetising and clearly not fresh.
To make matters worse, both myself and my wife became ill shortly after eating there, despite only managing a few bites. This place used to be one of the best around, but it?s completely gone downhill.
Save your money and your stomach ? avoid at all costs. There are far better places to eat nearby.

My first visit after hearing so many positive reviews.
Booked in advance a belated Mother?s Day meal.
There was no carvery or email ahead of our visit to notify us of this.
The pub was empty and we were put on a table squashed uncomfortably in the corner.
Ordered alternative food which took 45 minutes to arrive
Curry was warm with 1/4 of a naan bread.
Staff was pleasant but generally the food was nothing special and I left feeling very disappointed and unsatisfied.
Pub location set near a pretty little village but I probably wouldn?t bring my Partner here.

Went for a meal with friends today & the food on the carvery looked dried out and the vegetable choice was reduced by half the veg. It usually has. This is 1st time since Shula & Phil left and it's gone down hill since they left.
Did not raise concerns to staff as it was my friends birthday and did not want to cause trouble. However the standards have dropped so much since our last visit.
The meat was perfect
The roast potatoes were topped up with over cooked potatoes which were over done to a crisp.
The cabbage was dried out and needed to be put in the bin.
The stuffing was dried out.
Cauliflower cheese looked like it had been there all day.
The Carrots were not appealing at all.
The minted potatoes looked like they had seen better days.
The range of Vegetables was not available at 18.00pm which the table was booked for.
The standards are NOT what it used to be.
We wont be coming back as it's gone down hill.
