Stayed here a couple of weekends ago with my husband for the weekend. The room was lovely and everything was clean and tidy. We had a cooked breakfast both mornings and it was fantastic. A great little get away just a 30 minute drive away. The pub itself is lovely and has some great character. All the staff we met were friendly and very helpful.

Good old pub ,lacking only more people to appreciate it ,drop in ,you won't be disappointed, there's even a well in the bar !

myself and my wife stayed at the ye olde black cross 13th til 15th of september, upon arrival we recieved a very warm welcome, and shown to our room, the rooms are very quaint, (being a very old building) the beds were very comfortable, and spotlessly clean and tidy, had our own private bathroom complete with clean fresh towels etc, the following morning we went down for our pre.booked breakfast, i was amazed at the selection, cereals, cereal bars, little tubs ov jam, orange juice, apple juice, coffee, and the full english breakfast freshly cooked was amazing, all staff, and owners were extremely friendly, and the service there was fabulous, i would highly recommend this hotel for a weekend break to anybody who comes across this review, so many thanks to all of you for a very comfortable stay, and the best of luck to you all for the future,

A fantastic turn around since many years of failure. Jay, Stacey, Gav and Billy are turning a much loved pub back into what it always was. excellent food, music and hospitality. recommended to all.

Eee, a good ol boozer, plenty o rooms & outside, good choice of cold beer, the menu starts next month, however as a pub it's a gud en!!.

I'm looking forward to seeing and trying the food options once available. I'd turn the music down when the football is on so we can hear the commentary.Kid-friendliness: I think there's a fair amount of swearing, but these are parents swearing in front of their kids, so not sure what the solution is here.

Went to see Mel & Him there on Friday and all I can say is was a brilliant night good atmosphere and the staff was really nice and smiling all night
